Assalammualaikum wr wb,

It has been a while since we wrote any newsletters lately because we were kept busy with events, advertisers and sponsors. In the past we have never really looked into organising or supporting events. Only this year, this have kept us extremely busy. We apologize if there are any short comings on our end for not being able to send you awesome stories and announcements.

Its been easier just to post on Facebook as its much much easier for us to update there. So are you the 19,000 plus fans that LIKE our FB page? If you are not, you are encouraged to get our updates there too.

Perhaps its time that we get a dedicated person to write this personal newsletters to you every week. Hmmm. Who would that be? Well the search is on. So what will qualify this person to take up this Newsletter Maestro position.

1) One - Good writing and interpersonal skills.
2) One who have good faith and wish to keep learning about Allah swt and Rasulullah saw
3) Ability to write to engage this strong 5,000 plus readership.
4) Knows Dreamweaver and HTML. ( Yes this is a requirement )
5) Knowledge on Photoshop or other Photo Editing Tools. ( Yes this is a requirement )
6) Knowledge on FTP.

Majlis Selawat ke atas Rasulullah S.A.W ( Siri 21)

This month we wil be having the Majlis at Masjid Al Amin @ 50 Telok Blangah Way. The theme for this Majlis is the continuation of last months topic on ADAB Rasulullah saw.

As you know, she was in town the past weekend, delivering speeches in two sold out events. As our team was busy with registrations outside the lecture rooms, appreciate that any of you could fill us up with what was shared and how it have helped you in your current situation.

A scene in a club...

The moment you walk in to the room, you see lights, loud music and whole ball of noises and laughters by people you may know or not know. Women dancing on poles with almost nothing on their bodies and getting unneccessary whistles and blows by men who just wish to have a hands on them. The smell in that room was nothing less of alcohol and drunk people. Perhaps on a few tables and chairs you will see pills too.

End of scene in a club...

To you this may be entertainment to fill up your time or your soul. In reality is that what Allah swt wants us to be at? And because of this culture of entertainment, there are groups of people in the community that shuns away from entertainment. Banning music in all aspects even rejecting Nasyids and other Islamic entertainment like Maher Zain's songs. It's quite sad actually to hear this because of one extreme issue, another got affected.

Truly we do not want to have that Club culture in our way of life but to remove entertainment totally? Hmmm.

That is why we brought Akhi Farihin Abdul Fattah in the picture. Perhaps you do not know who is Akhi Farihin?

Allow us to introduce him. After seating down with him in a few sessions, he is One who went through those club life, then went on a spiritual journey even going through Tabligh at one point of time in his life. He is known to be the Producer and Manager of the popular Nasyid Group - Raihan.

He will be sharing his journey on taking this popular Nasyid Group all the way to Britain and performing at many festivals to spread peace and love through Nasyids.

At the same time, Akhi Fairihin will share the importance of Music and Entertainment in our Life. So what kind of entertainment are we talking about here... It's for you to find out during the seminar.

Ustaz Noor Deros will also be delivering his talks on End of Times. So how does the world of entertainment links up to end of times theory?

Arabic Calligraphy Workshop - A Tapestry of Sacred Music

Calligraphy, whatever its language, is about so much more than just the mere words it forms. The very act of creation, with its sweeping brush strokes and flourishes, involves skill, instinct and responsiveness to the moment; a state of being akin to that experienced during the act of worship.

Arabic calligraphy is an expression of piety, because it is used mostly to convey the message of the Quran. While many religions use images and figurines to depict convictions and highest aspirations, early Islamic leaders chose calligraphy as their form of religious expression. Through the sizes and shapes of its 28 letters and their accompanying dots and strokes, a flowing script infused with strength and “transcendent significance” emerged. Just as the icons of other faiths represent power, so too does Arabic calligraphy.

Each character is linked by the energy that creates it, and by the positive and negative spaces in between. Everything comes together in a unified whole, its abstract beauty gradually revealing itself to the discerning eye.

Arabic calligraphy is a primary form of art for Islamic visual expression and creativity. It represents unity, beauty, and power, and appears on countless objects, from the everyday items of furniture and carpets, to the surfaces of walls, mosque interiors, tombs and the most famous sanctuary of Islam, the al-Ka'ba. Written from right to left, Arabic calligraphy is historically related to the Latin, Greek and Aramaic alphabets, while languages such as Persian, Urdu and Malay use adaptations of the Arabic script.

At this workshop conducted by Singapore-based artist Faizal Somadi, participants will be given Arabic calligraphy worksheets. Participants will be introduced to basic Arabic calligraphic writing and its origins and functions in modern society, while also experiencing hands-on the different styles, techniques and instruments of calligraphy.

Islamicevents.sg Shop Online Processes

One step at a time. We are taking steps to fine tune the delivery processes for our online shop.

The Processes are as shown:

1) Orders received by Admin.
2) Admin will contact Courier & Inform them to pick up items from various suppliers. Once or twice a week
3) Courier sent to Packing center.
4) Packing center packs orders and contact Area Despatcher.
5) Area Despatcher will collect item, contact client to deliver items.
6) Items delivered.
7) Area despatcher returns with signed invoice.

On average an order will take 7-14 days from the point of order to delivery.

Please take note that we will not be accepting walk in customers anymore as the Packing Center and products is not located at our main office. All orders will be despatched and delivered.
