Assalamualaikum Wr Wb,
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Thank you for subscribing to our mailing list. InshaAllah this email finds you and your family in the best of health and imaan. May the peace and blessings of Allah SWT be upon you and your family, inshaAllah.
Religion VS Culture
Culture has ingrained within many societies a wrong understanding of what it means to be the head of the household. Helping your wife with household chores is a neglected sunnah.
Any man that sees it beneath him or is too arrogant to help his wife around the house is acting against the sunnah, and is guilty of misogynistic behaviour. In fact, majority of Muslim scholars are of the opinion that serving one’s husband is not compulsory on a wife. Imam Malik, Imam al-Shafi’e and Imam Abu Hanifa also support this.
Aisha (RA), the wife of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), was asked, “What did the Prophet (PBUH) use to do in his house?” She replied, “ He used to keep himself busy serving his family (كَانَ يَكُونُ فِي مِهْنَةِ أَهْلِهِ) and when it was the time for prayer he would go for it.” [ Bukhari ]
The word used in the hadith is Mihnah (مِهْنَة), which is translated as ‘busy serving’ here, also means in the Arabic language ‘work’, ‘job’, ‘profession’, etc. This implies helping your wife in the house is a full time job as well. Whether it’s helping wash the dishes, cooking, cleaning, raising the kids etc, everything is part and parcel of being the ‘man’ of the house. The notion
that it is somehow degrading for men to help and work with the wife around the house is foreign to Islam.
In another report Aisha (RA) is reported to have said, “He did what one of you would do in his house. He mended sandals and patched garments and sewed.” [ Adab Al-Mufrad graded sahih by Al-Albani ]
In yet another report, Aisha (RA) said, “He milked his goat.” [ Ahmad ]
Hence, he did not find such things too 'effeminate' (unmanly) for him to do. It is no wonder that he said, “The best of you is the one who is best to his wife, and I am the best of you to my wives.” [ Tirmidhi; Ibn Majah ]

Islamic Funeral And Death Rites Course
Death is a very painful and emotional time, yet one that may be filled with hope and mercy. Muslims believe that death is a departure from the life of this world, but not the end of a person's existence. Rather, eternal life is to come, and we pray for Allah's mercy to be with the departed, in hopes that they may find peace and happiness in the next to come.
That is for the person who will face death. But how about the family or relatives? Its very easy to say stay calm and be strong but without the proper knowledge and guidance many a times that will not be the case. In some incidences, members of family breaks down and make irrational decisions which may cause more problems.
If this situation arises in your family, would you know what to do?

INFAQ: Infaq Mutton ( All year round )
Mission: To support mosques and muslim organisations by providing halal mutton for their events / majlis.
Throughout the year we have had requests from various organisations for sponsorship of mutton and often we have to reject them because we could raise funds only during certain periods like Ramadan, or when we have Aqiqah Australia projects where we could bring in the mutton from Australia.
To make this effort more sustainable and for us to be able to respond to requests, we have decided to run this project all year around.
This would also provide avenues for the community to continue supporting various events throughout the year. For Infaq Mutton ( All Year Round ), we will only raise funds for frozen mutton, as it is much easier to acquire and cheaper to purchase compared to fresh mutton.
So far we have managed to collect 136kg of mutton, of which 30kg has been donated to Masjid Wak Tanjong, and another 50kg will be donated to Masjid Darul Makmur for their upcoming Monthly Hot Meal Distribution event on October 29th. We have 56kg of meat left.
Current Mutton Request:
- Masjid Jamiyah Ar-Rabitah has requested for 100kg of mutton for their upcoming event this Saturday, October 28th. We need your help to raise funds for 44kg of mutton.
If you wish to contribute for this cause, you may sponsor the following:
1kg - $18
2kg - $35
5kg - $85
10kg - $165
18kg - $295
36kg - $580
50kg - $780
100kg - $1500
200kg - $2800
Prices above will include butcher's cuts and delivery to beneficiaries. Banking and transactions fees are also included.
Closing date: 31 December 2017
