Assalamualaikum Wr Wb,

The Virtues of Charity
Charity has a great significance in Islam, and spending in charity is an indication of the sincerity of one's faith. The personal sacrifice of giving one's possessions, no matter how small, for the sake of helping those in need is a blessing and means purifying our souls and wealth.
One of the specific characteristics of the righteous servants of Allah SWT is spending on the poor and the needy; Allah SWT says, "Indeed, they were before that doers of good. They used to sleep but little of the night. And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness. And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived." [Qur'an 51:16 - 19]
Allah SWT has promised –– and He is the Generous who does not break His
promise –– to compensate those who spend for His sake. Allah SWT says, "Say, 'Indeed, my Lord extends provision for whom
He wills of His servants and restricts [it] for him. But whatever thing you spend [in His cause] - He will compensate it; and He is the best of providers.'" [Qur'an 34:39]
Abu Maisarah narrated from 'Aishah (RA) that they had slaughtered a sheep (and distributed major portions of its meat to the poor and others), so the Prophet (PBUH) said, "What remains of it?" 'Aishah (RA) said, "Nothing remains of it except its shoulder." He said, "All of it remains except its shoulder." [Ref: Tirmidhi, Hadith #2470]
This hadith is in accord with the words of Allah SWT in the Qur'an: "Whatever is with you is perishable, and whatever is with Allah is permanent." [Qur'an 16:96]
From a drop of water to gardens of fruit we must remember that everything in this world is loaned to us for a brief period of time. The true test is the test of giving the given.
How will you give today?

INFAQ: Mutton ( All Year Round )
Mission: To support mosques and muslim organisations to provide halal mutton for their events / majlis.
Throughout the year we've had multiple requests from various organisations for sponsorship of mutton, and often we have to reject them because we could only raise funds only during certain periods like Ramadan, or when we have Aqiqah Australia projects where we can bring in the mutton from Australia.
To make this effort more sustainable, and for us to be able to respond to these requests, we decided to run this project all year round.
This would also provide avenues for the community to continue supporting various events throughout the year. For Infaq Mutton ( All Year Round ), we will only raise funds for frozen mutton, as it is much easier to acquire and cheaper to purchase compared to fresh mutton.
If you are an event organiser for a non-profit organisation and would like to request for the meat, do write in to us at info@islamicevents.sg and we will do our best to help.
Alhamdulillah, with your generous contributions so far we have collected is 342kg, of which:
- 30kg was donated to Masjid Wak Tanjong
- 50kg was donated to Masjid Darul Makmur
- 100kg was donated to Masjid Ar-Rabitah
- most recently 30kg was donated to Masjid Mydin
We are now left with 132kg of mutton, of which 100kg will be donated to Masjid Maarof for their event this December.
Current Mutton Request:
- Masjid Darul Makmur has requested for 80kg of mutton for their upcoming monthly Hot Meal Distribution event, which will be held every third Sunday of the month. Based on the 32kg of mutton we have left, we only require 48kg of mutton to fulfil this particular request.
