Secret Charity
Abdullah Ibn al-Mubarak used to frequently go to Tarasus and stay in a small inn. There was a young man who would visit him and assist him with his needs and also learn Hadith from him. Once Abdullah Ibn al-Mubarak travelled to Tarasus but did not see the young man there. He had to leave quickly with a group of people but when he returned he asked about the young man. They said he was jailed for not being able to
repay a debt of 10,000 Dirhams.
Abdullah Ibn al-Mubarak found out who the creditor was and paid the 10,000 Dirhams to him secretly, taking an oath from him that he would not inform anyone as long as he lived. The young man was released and came to see Ibn al-Mubarak. “O young man! Where were you? I haven’t seen you!” greeted Abdullah Ibn al-Mubarak. The young man said, “O Abu Abdur-Rahman, I was jailed for debt.” Ibn al-Mubarak asked, “How was it settled then?” The young man
replied, “A man came and settled the debt but I do not know who he was.” Ibn al-Mubarak said, “Then praise Allah!” The young man did not find out who his benefactor was until Ibn al-Mubarak had passed away. [Tarikh Baghdad]
Allah SWT likes us to do good deeds and kindnesses, and that we do these deeds with no hope of recognition from anyone except Him. Allah SWT says: “If you give charity openly, it is good, but if you keep it secret and give to the needy in private, that is better for you, and it will atone for some of your bad deeds: Allah is well aware of all that you do.” [Quran 2:271]
How will you give today?

INFAQ: Mutton ( All Year Round )
Mission: To support mosques and muslim organisations to provide halal mutton for their events / majlis.
Throughout the year we've had multiple requests from various organisations for sponsorship of mutton, and often we have to reject them because we could only raise funds only during certain periods like Ramadan, or when we have Aqiqah Australia projects where we can bring in the mutton from Australia.
To make this effort more sustainable, and for us to be able to respond to these requests, we decided to run this project all year round.
This would also provide avenues for the community to continue supporting various events throughout the year. For Infaq Mutton ( All Year Round ), we will only raise funds for frozen mutton, as it is much easier to acquire and cheaper to purchase compared to fresh mutton.
Alhamdulillah, with your generous contributions so far we have collected is 748kg, of which:
- 30kg was donated to Masjid Wak Tanjong
- 50kg was donated to Masjid Darul Makmur
- 100kg was donated to Masjid Ar-Rabitah
- 30kg was donated to Masjid Mydin
- 80kg was donated to Masjid Darul Makmur
- 100kg was donated to Masjid Maarof
- 100kg was donated to Masjid Darul Makmur
- 136kg was donated to Masjid Mujahidin
- most recently 80kg was donated to Masjid Darul Makmur
We are now left with 42kg of mutton.
Current Mutton Request:
- Masjid Darul Makmur has requested for 70kg of mutton for their Monthly Hot Meal Distribution drive, which provides free meals for the needy and old aged residents at Yishun. We need 28kg of mutton by Thursday, 8 February 2018 to fulfil this request.

NEW INFAQ PROJECT:
Mission: To aid and provide poor families in Cambodia with proper housing.
While we are living in the comfort of our homes protected from the weather, others in different parts of the world may not share the same fate. Despite working day and night to support their families, they are still too poor to purchase land and build up their own houses. There are thousands of families living in poverty in Cambodia, and some of the houses are simply made of straw (as shown above). In this Wakf project, we aim to aid and provide these families with proper housing.
This project, managed by Infaq.SG, will help to purchase a small piece of land and build up the houses for these poor families. One of our staff members, who travels every 2-3 months to Cambodia to send support, will be overseeing this project.
