Love for Your Brother What You Love for Yourself
None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother that which he loves for himself. [Bukhari]
This hadith does not just apply to Muslims, but to all of humanity. Therefore for a person to achieve true faith they have to love their brother in humanity, Muslim or non-Muslim, what they love for themselves. This is a very high level of spirituality and selflessness that the true believer should seek.
Another characteristic of this hadith is wanting the brother to have what you have and even better. This doesn’t let us feel this scarcity mindset, and part of that is that it is a manifestation of us realising that Allah SWT is endless in His bounty. Sometimes when you look at what others have, we have that disease that makes us think that if they have it, then we can’t. However, Allah
SWT is endless in His bounty and endless in His generosity, even infinite in these qualities. Allah can give and take as He pleases so it shouldn’t make a difference if someone else has something as well.
May Allah beautify our characters and forgive us for our sins and our shortcomings, and help us love for our brothers what we love for ourselves.
How will you give today?

NEW INFAQ PROJECT:
Mission: To aid and provide poor families in Cambodia with proper housing.
While we are living in the comfort of our homes protected from the weather, others in different parts of the world may not share the same fate. Despite working day and night to support their families, they are still too poor to purchase land and build up their own houses. There are thousands of families living in poverty in Cambodia, and some of the houses are simply made of straw (as shown above). In this Wakf project, we aim to aid and provide these families with proper housing.
This project, managed by Infaq.SG, will help to purchase a small piece of land and build up the houses for these poor families. One of our staff members, who travels every 2-3 months to Cambodia to send support, will be overseeing this project.
Current Request: 10 houses
Location: 1 House @ Wilayah Koh Kong & 9 Houses @ Wilayah Sihanoukville
Completion period: 2 months + 1 month of Administration.

INFAQ: Mutton ( All Year Round )
Mission: To support mosques and muslim organisations to provide halal mutton for their events / majlis.
Throughout the year we've had multiple requests from various organisations for sponsorship of mutton, and often we have to reject them because we could only raise funds only during certain periods like Ramadan, or when we have Aqiqah Australia projects where we can bring in the mutton from Australia.
To make this effort more sustainable, and for us to be able to respond to these requests, we decided to run this project all year round.
This would also provide avenues for the community to continue supporting various events throughout the year. For Infaq Mutton ( All Year Round ), we will only raise funds for frozen mutton, as it is much easier to acquire and cheaper to purchase compared to fresh mutton.
Alhamdulillah, with your generous contributions so far we have collected is 386kg, of which:
- 30kg was donated to Masjid Wak Tanjong
- 50kg was donated to Masjid Darul Makmur
- 100kg was donated to Masjid Ar-Rabitah
- 30kg was donated to Masjid Mydin
- 80kg was donated to Masjid Darul Makmur
- 100kg was donated to Masjid Maarof
- 80kg was donated to Masjid Darul Makmur
- most recently 80kg was donated to Masjid Darul Makmur
*****************
End date: 28 Feb 2018
* Please note that this project will continue after Ramadan 1439H *
Current Mutton Request:
- No request. We are now left with 2kg of mutton. If you are an event organiser for a non-profit organisation and would like to request for the meat, do write in to us at info@islamicevents.sg, and we will do our best to help :)
