Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.
Al-Quran is the final book of Allah s.w.t revealed to Prophet Muhammad s.aw. Believing in it is part of our Pillars of Iman. In it, contains the words of Allah s.w.t. that become the guidance for us in living in this world and also in achieveing a better life in the hereafter.
Thus, reading the Al-Quran requires our heart and soul to fully immersed in each single words of Allah s.w.t. The same way we react when reading a book and trying to bring ourself into the shoe of the main character. Knowing and understanding the meaning of these words help in immersing oneself into the Al-Quran. If needed, read the lines repeatedly until we really grasp the meaning.
However, this is a process. We are not able to master in reading, mastering the meaning and getting ourself to immerse the Al-Quran neither over a night nor in a fortnight nor in a decade. Because there is never a fullstop in learning the Al-Quran.
Always remember, to Khatam the Al-Quran or completing reciting the Al-Quran, is not a competition. Do not pressure ourself to Khatam the Al-Quran when what we are doing is just a mere reading. Relax, take it slow and steady. Its ok. We are not competing with anybody. It is not a requirement either to Khatam the Al-Quran in order to fulfill the Amanah of believing in the book of Allah s.w.t. The word "believing" itself means to have faith in the Al-Quran. And this
requires understanding. Afterall, Allah s.w.t. knows best our intention when reciting the Al-Quran.
This topic leads to the discussion on the behaviour of some parents who always rushes the Asatizahs to speed up in teaching their children in reciting the Iqra' and the Al-Quran.
Dear parents,
It never make your children any lesser from others if they have not Khatam the Al-Quran. Do not pressure yourself nor your children nor the Asatizah. Enjoy going through the process of learning the Al-Quran together slow and steady. Then you will see the fruit from this meaningful process. Trust in Allah's s.w.t. plan. Insyallah everything will be fine.
