Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.
The Qur'an is not just to be read but to be appreciated and dig for the treasures contained in it.
Al-Quran Al-Karim is the greatest miracle bestowed by Allah s.w.t. to the Messenger of Allah s.a.w. The revelation of the Qur’an in 23 years met all the needs of the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. in spreading Islam and dealing with all matters encountered during his da'wah. The Qur'an is not only a mere guidance (guide), but actually brings solutions to all problems faced by human beings. This is clear
from the use of various names referring to the Quran. Among the names used Allah s.w.t. referring to the Qur'an are such as Al-Kitab, Al-Furqan, Al-Huda, Al-Ruh, Al-Haq, Al-Mau'izah, Al-Zikr, Al-Nur, Al-Burhan, Al-Busyra, Al-Syifa 'and Al-Rahmah.
For example, the Qur’an is a book of miracles that shows guidance, brings blessings, is advice and a cure to spiritual and physical ailments.
The Qur'an is the greatest book of all time. The generation of companions who were with the Messenger of Allah s.a.w. dubbed the ‘unique generation of the Qur’an’. Its uniqueness is that they practice everything that is in the Quran. In terms of morality, they are guided by the Qur'an. They follow the qudwah (following) left by Rasulullah s.a.w.
In this increasingly challenging world, we are required to re-examine the treasures of the Qur'an, especially to face the situation in a society that has lost its guidelines. The Qur'an is no longer a hold and a follow but instead lust and the mind are given priority.
However, the reality that is happening today is that society is getting further and further away from the Quran. The more they face problems, the more they distance themselves from the guidance of the Qur’an. This is evident when there are a handful of people who dispute the appropriateness of the verses of the Qur'an.
Plenty of opportunity and space of time should be filled with this study of scripture, but much is spent with careless entertainment. This pandemic situation for example, was supposed to return society to the owners of all these tests, but it didn’t happen.
Allah s.w.t. who lowers disease and He also provides the cure. We are commanded to try to prevent any calamity from befalling us. When faced with adversity or God's test, we are required to be patient and remember Him (remembrance). Allah s.w.t. also promises peace of mind and peace of soul when we remember Him.
Rasulullah s.a.w. said: "Let you adhere to two types of medicine, namely honey and the Qur'an." Ibn Majah
Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyyah in his book Al-Tibb al-Nabawi said that the two ways of healing mentioned by the Prophet s.a.w. actually combines between human healing and Divine healing, between physical and spiritual healing, between heavenly (heavenly) healing as well as worldly healing. Therefore, the combination between the two will definitely give the perfect impact. The Qur'an remains a miracle
and a cure for spiritual and physical ailments.
Wallahualam.
