Ramadhan is nearing - and a woman may expect to not fast for the whole of the month. It could be you, or it could be a loved one. And it usually is something that is grudgingly accepted.

But Allah created women as such - and how women experience Ramadhan differ from men.

How should women embrace Ramadhan in a state where they are unable to fast in a month of fasting that comes only once a year? 

How could our community also appreciate the blessings behind what Allah has ordained on women?

Let’s explore this topic with Ustazah Syariati, who is also a women’s wellness educator.

Bro Suryakenchana Omar, founder of Elefpi Learnscapes, has been conducting sessions for both parents and students on 22 Essential Studying Skills to help students become self-directed and independent learners, since 1998.

JumpStart 2022
This 3-hour session is designed to familiarise parents with a number of study skills in Elefpi’s study skills set such as Preview+Skim (PS), Optimised Reading (OR) and Optimising Homework/Practice (OHP). These skills are recommended for application before, during and after a lesson.

Study Smart
This 1.5-hour session is designed for parents to help prepare their children for exams in a more meaningful manner, especially with smart studying and revision strategies such as such as Instant Recall (IR), Recall Mapping (RM) and GTR Circuit (GTR).
 

About the Speaker

Bro Suryakenchana Omar conceptualised the Learning Facilitation Programme (LFP) in 2003 that enables students to be self-directed and collaborative learners with study skills and portfolio development.

Now, he runs community-based LFPs and study skills development programmes at Madrasah Wak Tanjong, Bukit Batok CC and at Elefpi Learnscapes HQ in Excalibur Centre at Ubi Crescent.

He has a BA Hons and MA from NUS. He is a recipient of the SAF Academic Training Award, NUS Research Scholarship and NUS Student Achievement Award. He is embarking on his sponsored PhD at JCU Singapore since 2021.

Description

Pre-order this first series on the stories of Prophets of Allah by Mdm Haniah Abdul Hamid, local educator and founder of Cavenur Kindergarten. 

This will be a great way to spend time with your children during Ramadhan! The stories give emphasis on building in children, parents and educators, a sense of gratitude to Allah and belief in Him. 

Children will get to learn about the special gifts that Allah has blessed the Prophets with, and how they were tested with difficulties and challenges, yet they were patient and always hope for Allah’s Grace and Mercy.

Each set of five picture books costs $45 and includes delivery. (Iyad Perdaus students will receive their copies at their respective centres).

Proceeds from this campaign will help sustain Perdaus’ dakwah programmes and operations.
