1) Recite "Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun"
Umm Salamah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, "When a person suffers from a calamity and utters, "We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. O Allah! Compensate me in my affliction, recompense my loss and give me something better in exchange for it," then Allah surely compensates him with reward and better substitute.
2) Cover the mouth and eyes
It is recommended to massage the eyes of the decease by doing slow massage around the area of the eye. This will loosen up the muscles of the deceased and will eventually able to move the eyelid and close it.
Remember to not put a coin just like in Dramas and Movies!
As the heart stops beating, the blood flow of the deceased will stop and eventually the joints and body will become hard to move.
3) Burn some bukhoor
It is also recommended to spread pleasant odour around the room as this would conceal any unwanted foul smell omitted from the body, and in essence, uphold his/her dignity.
So now, here is the next BIG question..........
Should we call the police or doctor first?
