Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.
Rasulullah s.a.w. once asked the reason that most causes people to enter paradise, Rasulullah s.a.w. replied, “Taqwa to Allah s.w.t. and be of noble character ". Rasulullah s.a.w. also asked the reason that most caused people to go to hell, Rasulullah s.a.w. replied, "Mouth and genitals". (Hadith Narrated by Timidzi)
Why are we born with two eyes, two ears but only one mouth? So that we see and hear more than we talk a lot. There is also a Malay proverb that says "Because the mouth of the body perishes".
Know the Manners of speaking according to Islam:
1. Be humble and stay away from the attitude of making excuses
The words of Rasulullah s.a.w .: "Indeed, the person I hate the most and farthest from me on the Day of Judgment is the person who talks a lot and is arrogant in speaking." (Hadith narrated by Tarmizi - Hadith Hassan)
2. Speak the truth and avoid telling lies
There is a saying, "Speak the truth, even if the truth is bitter, because bitterness is an effective antidote."
"The signs of a hypocrite are 3, if he speaks a lie, if he promises to deny and if he is entrusted he is a traitor." (Hadith narrated by Bukhari)
3. Avoid heated debate
The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: "It is not for a people to go astray after obtaining guidance for them, except because of too much debate." (Hadith narrated by Ahmad and Tirmidhi)
And in another hadith, the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) are mentioned: good morals. " (Hadith narrated by Abu Daud)
4. Stay away from obscene words, denunciations and curses
The words of Rasulullah s.a.w .: "It is not a believer if he likes to criticize, curse and say obscene words." (Hadith narrated by Tirmidhi with Sahih chain of transmission)
5. Avoid making a lot of jokes
"Indeed, as bad as people in the sight of Allah s.w.t. on the Day of Judgment, it is the people who like to make people laugh. ” (Hadith narrated by Bukhari)
6. Avoid ghibah (cursing) and complaining about sheep
The words of the Messenger of Allah s.a.w .: "Do not envy each other, and do not hate each other, and do not speak ill of each other, and do not avoid each other, and do not ghibah one another, and be the servants of God who brothers. ” (Hadith narrated by Muttaafaq’alaih)
7. Do not insult or embarrass others
The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: "If someone tells you something and then he leaves, eating the story becomes a trust for you to take care of it." (Hadith narrated by Abu Daud and Tirmidhi)
“O you who believe! Stay away from most of the suspicions (so that you do not think of the forbidden suspicions) for indeed some of the suspicions are sins, and let us not spy or seek the faults and shame of others, and let not one of us slander one another. Is half of us like to eat the flesh of his dead brother! (If that is the case of slander) then of course we are disgusted with him. (Therefore, obey the prohibitions) and be pious to Allah, indeed Allah is the
Acceptor of Repentance, the Most Merciful. " (Al-Hujuraat: verse 12).
Rasulullah saw said: “Whoever covers the shame of his Muslim brother, then Allah s.w.t. will cover his shame in the hereafter. " (Hadith narrated by Tirmidhi was authenticated by AL-Albani).
8. Saying Insyaallah to a plan or something that is not certain.
"And let us not say of anything:" Surely I will do it tomorrow morning, except (by saying): "Inshaa Allah", and my Lord will guide him who is nearer to the truth than this. " (Al-Khafi, 18: 23-24)
Wallahualam.
