Maintaining Obedience After Ramadan
The month of Ramadan is a month of education and training for Muslims. The success or failure of the exercise, the indication can be seen from his deeds after Ramadan. Is the worship increasing or getting slack? That's where lies the assessment of the success of Ramadan.
After Ramadan there are only two options; excellent or stumped (in piety). The fact is that there are various conditions of piety of believers after wading through the "sea of pearls" called the month of Ramadan.
The essence of Ramadan is a special moment of "holy quarantine" for one full month, galvanizing the souls of faith to become superior, and its peak achievement is reaching the holy "honoris causa" from Allah swt in the form of; piety.
Identical to a quarantine, quality or poor results depend on the willingness and personal seriousness of the participants. Post-quarantine called Ramadan, of course the results are different, from each "participant", some get maximum results, some are simple.
Eid Al-Fitr is the beginning of a holy return, after all blemishes, sins, and imperfections called the month of Ramadan.
Therefore, it should be us who maintain this sanctity after Ramadan is over, marked by Eid al-Fitr, until the next Ramadan comes. It is hoped that after Ramadan, piety is then attached to the personality of the believers, which in a relay will give birth to positive things and elements of benefit in the life of the muttaqin (the pious). And it is in this context that the peak meeting point of Ramadan fasting worship with other worship such as hajj, zakat and various other worship.
Like a luxury vehicle, after Ramadan, humans are finished doing a total repair, or "down the engine", it should be maintained, so as not to be damaged again in a matter of seconds, after leaving the "specialist workshop" called Ramadhan.
Qaidah Fiqh also said: "al-umuru bi maqashidiha" (the status of an act of deed is disturbed whether it is sincere or not). So, if yesterday while fasting during Ramadan without including the good (intentions) to increase religiosity after Ramadan, why bother fasting?
During the holidays, people tend to forget and leave the usual daily activities. If this is done in a long duration of time, it can result in forgetting and being lazy to start again.
But being ISTIQOMAH or steadfast is the key. Slow and steady, its ok. But tge intention to do good must go on. Istiqomah cannot be achieve over night. It needs practise. Thus, the practise has started during Ramadhan. Our job is to continue what we have done. If Ramadan we can be Istiqomah, why not it other months right?
Thus remember, do not waste our effort of doing good. Remain consistent. Slow and steady, its ok.
Wallahualam.
