One group that will not get intelligence is the group who only writes knowledge in their own area without adventuring, migrating, or migrating to other areas in search of Hadith (science). 

Often we feel enough with the sources of knowledge and teachers in our own area. Though the sense of sufficiency can backfire and bad things if not anticipated. The bad thing is the lack of experience and knowledge. By wandering, we will gain knowledge from various points of view, appreciate knowledge more, and be more tolerant of furu'iyyah differences. 

Look at how people who only study in their own area are more rigid and find it difficult to accept differences. More fundamental and stronger in holding the ingrained principles in the area. In fact, it may be that the principles are not all good and not all new views from outside the region are bad. 

Islam, Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. commands us not to be complacent in knowledge and we are obliged to continuously seek knowledge, as the Hadith, 

"Seek knowledge from the womb to the grave" 

That is, seeking knowledge is a lifelong job. Think about the story of Jabir bin Abdullah who traveled to Sham with a distance of one month's journey for only one Hadith from Abdullah bin Unais. Look, how the position of Abdullah bin Jubayr does not make him feel arrogant with his knowledge.  Watch how science elevates its owner. Jabir bin Abdullah was one of the main companions in the Hadith, but was so humble that he struggled on the way to Syria to meet Abdullah bin Unais for a Hadith. 

Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal was asked about people who want to seek knowledge, whether by following knowledgeable people or by wandering. Imam Ahmad replied that the main thing is to migrate or travel in search of knowledge so that he can know the knowledge of people (from other areas) and learn from it. 

If we look at the history of the scholars, then we will know that knowledge is sought on a long journey, not just staying in one's own area. Imam Shafi'i migrated from Gaza to Medina to meet Imam Malik bin Anas. Imam Bukhari, Muslim Imam, Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, etc. migrated even if only for one letter. Was their trip in vain? Certainly not. they are aware that knowledge comes, not the other way around. 

There is no evil in wandering for knowledge. Go wander, because wandering is the perfection of learning.
