In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.
In life, Allah s.w.t. will always test our Iman in order to alleviate it. And one of the means of testing us is through crossing our path with people of different characters. And today,
we shall talk about Toxic People.
A toxic person is anyone whose behavior adds negativity and upset to your life. Many times, people who are toxic are dealing with their own stresses and traumas.
Dealing with such an individual can be difficult and draining. In
fact, it may challenge what you know about yourself and push you to the limits.
Toxic people are manipulative. Their modus operandi is to get people to do what they want them to do.
They are judgmental. Keep your eyes and ears open for criticism—about you, what you've done, and what you didn’t do.
They don't apologize. They
don’t see any reason to, because things are always someone else’s fault. In many instances, although they try to orchestrate relationships to serve their own ends, they try to gain sympathy and attention by claiming “victim” status.
They make you defend yourself. They have difficulty staying on point about certain issues, probably because they’re not interested in your point of view or trying to reach an amicable
conclusion.
They are not caring, supportive, or interested in what’s important to you. In fact, the good things that happen to you move the attention away from them and thwart them from focusing on their own goals. Beware of people who find fault with you and make you wrong. Loyalty is foreign to them.
Toxic people often make you want to fix them and their problems. They want you to feel
sorry for them, and responsible for what happens to them.
The solution for this toxic people is we ought to pray for them. Let's pray that Allah s.w.t. will grant them the Taufiq and Hidayah to see the true Light and may Allah s.w.t. always be by their side to guide them. Ameen. May this doa also comes back to us all. May Allah s.w.t. never stop guiding all of us too in order to grasp HIS Jannah. Ameen.
Wallahu a'lam.

Last session starts Tuesday,
7 December
8pm - 10:00pm
This 6-week program will be run by financial experts and asatizah that will help you equip yourself on your journey to attain sustained and purified wealth. The program will cover all about money and how we can maneuver our way to retaining and increasing our barakah from it while avoiding the pitfalls that take
it away.
The course will talk about:
- Investing and growing your money in a halal way
- Defining riba and how we can avoid and at least minimize ourselves with its dealings
- Planning for the future… or the unexpected.
- Ensuring that the Barakah in your wealth grows along with YOU!
Death is certain and will eventually come to us whether it's today, tomorrow or in the future. How prepared are we if Allah swt wants us to return to Him?
In Islam, we are encouraged to be prepared and plan for our death and there are steps that one needs to be responsible for spiritually and worldly.
Generally, these are matters that need to be attended to when a Muslim passes on and it is by sequence.
1) Settle all burial matters 2) Settle debts owed to others. 3) Settle debts owed to Allah swt ( Zakat, Fidya, Hajj Badal, etc ) 4) Settle what has been willed ( if available ) 5) Distributing wealth to family members ( Faraidh )
So how much do we really know about the above matters?
Living in an era where we get what we wish even before we finish our sentence, we might, without realizing it - fall prey to entitlement.
What best way to end 2022 and embrace 2023 is by reflecting on our sense of gratitude, as well as comprehending the thin line between gratitude and entitlement.
Acknowledging the good that we already have in the foundation of all abundance. Allah says in the Quran, which means:
”If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more.” - [Ibrahim; 7]
Based on this short, yet profoundly wise verse, I am excited to explore and expound on how we can further discern between gratitude and entitlement, and exercise gratefulness on a major scale of our lives, despite the
many shortfalls.
