For every cent means saving a precious life.

Humans were created by Allah s.w.t. to govern and manage their lives in this world. Surah al-Baqarah verse 29 describes a great responsibility to be shouldered by humans, especially Muslims as caliphs or administrators of this world. The word of Allah s.w.t which means:

"And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Indeed I want to make a caliph on earth."

All this is with one purpose, which is to hope for God's pleasure and mercy in this world and the hereafter. Financial planning and management is also one of the elements in the power of the administrator that is included with the nature of the caliphate as mentioned earlier.

Islam certainly places importance on taking care of and managing finances well. Islam encourages its people to generate, expand and use wealth wisely and systematically. In fact, through the wealth bestowed on people, it will be a testing ground for them whether they continue to feel grateful for the sustenance they have been blessed with or remain in disbelief and pride in the temporary luxury of the world. Property is also what will be a wasilah or a bridge to the sustainability of human piety to Allah s.w.t. Based on the obligations entrusted by Allah s.w.t. such as zakat, almsgiving and so on, people can make their wealth a catalyst for the heavenly answer that they long for in the afterlife.

Human failure in the afterlife is due to failure to obey God's orders in this world. Understand the words of His Majesty the Prophet s.a.w. in a hadith which means:

"A servant will not move his feet on the Day of Judgment until he is asked about four things: About his age what he spent, about his youth and what he fought for, about his wealth where it came from and where he spent it and about his knowledge what he did" (HR at-Tirmidhi: Hasan Sahih)

SURVIVING WINTER IN BEGAMBUR, INDIA

The winter season in India is extremely difficult for the people living in interior areas. The cold waves are harsh and these people particularly have nothing to protect themselves from the cold, leading to deteriorating health conditions. This winter campaign aims to distribute winter relief in the form of blankets and daily necessities around the villages of Begambur, India.

This Winter campaign is also designed to reach out to homeless and underprivileged people, to ensure that they are are well-guarded from the harsh winter that takes place every year.
