Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.

Life in this world is temporary. Nothing is eternal except Allah s.w.t. Allah s.w.t. made this world a place to be tested and not a place to rest even if a person is blessed by Allah s.w.t. with a lot of knowledge, wealth and happiness but it is still a test. 

The word of Allah s.w.t. in Surah An-Naml verse 40 means: "This is the bounty of my Lord to test me whether I am grateful or I do not remember the favors of His gifts. And (in truth) whoever is grateful, the benefit of his gratitude is only up to himself, and whoever is not grateful (then it is not a matter for God), because indeed my God is Rich, and Most Gracious." 

In addition, Allah s.w.t. will not bring reinforcements except to wipe out the sins of His servants and so that people are aware of the mistakes they have made.

Thus, to improve ourself each of us must do several things including: 

1. Increase piety to Allah s.w.t. 

The word of God in surah At-Talaq verses 2 and 3: "Whoever fears God (by doing His commands and abandoning His prohibitions), God will provide for him a way out (of all things that trouble him) and provide him with sustenance from the way  which did not cross his mind.  And (remember), whoever surrenders himself completely to Allah, then Allah is sufficient for him (to help and save him). 

2. Increase Istighfar 

From God's Word in Surah Al-Anfal verse 33: "And God will never torture them while you (O Muhammad) are among them and God will not torture them while they are seeking forgiveness." 

3. Praying and not taking it for granted 
The word of God in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 45: "And seek help (from God) through patience and prayer, and indeed prayer is very heavy except for those who are humble." 

4. Increase charity 

The words of the Prophet SAW: "Indeed charity avoids the wrath of God and prevents a person from dying in a bad situation."  [Hadith Narrated by Tarmizi: No. 600]
