Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.
Soon, we will be celebrating Israk Mikraj, one of the significant event in the Islamic history. It is the night journey of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. from Masjidil Haram to Baitul Maqdis before ascending to the heaven. What can we learn from this event? Let's us check it out!
1. BAITULMAQDIS IS THE PROPERTY OF MUSLIMS
The land of Palestine is a blessed land that is the place
chosen by Allah s.w.t. for the occurrence of an important event in history, the Israk Mikraj. This proves that this holy land is glorified by Allah s.w.t. and must be defended by all Muslims.
2. ACKNOWLEDGE THE GREATNESS OF ALLAH S.W.T. AND THE GREATNESS OF HIS KINGDOM
Allah sw.t. has shown the Prophet s.a.w. the majesty of His unlimited kingdom. This event educates people to feel inferior in
front of Allah s.w.t. and acknowledge the fact that they are servants of Allah s.w.t.
3. THE IMPORTANCE OF THE FIVE-HOUR FARDU PRAYER
Rasulullah s.a.w. received the command of Fardu prayer directly from Allah s.w.t. without going through an intermediary. This shows the privilege and advantage of prayer compared to other acts of worship.
4. AWAY
FROM EVIL AND FORBIDDEN THINGS
During the Israk Mikraj, the Prophet s.a.w. was taken to see the atmosphere in hell with various forms of punishment and torture on those who disobeyed God. This warns us to stay away from things forbidden by God.
5. ENCOURAGE TO ALWAYS ASK ALLAH S.W.T.
The incident of the Prophet s.a.w. going back and forth to meet
Allah s.w.t. to ask for relief during prayer gives us an idea so that we do not get tired of praying to Allah s.w.t. and do not easily give up in asking Allah s.w.t. to grant our prayers and requests.
6. SADNESS ABOUT THE WORLD, THE HEALER IS ALLAH S.W.T.
The event of Israk Mikraj is a gift from God to heal the heart and grief of the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. after going through a great test with
the death of his wife, Siti Khadijah and his uncle, Abu Talib. This at the same time showing that Allah s.w.t is the best support when sad and disappointed.
