Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.
When Rasulullah s.a.w. was asked, "What is religion?" He replied, "Religion is good morals." This is the meaning
of the hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad. This hadith clearly shows that those who work on the path of religion, as Islamic fighters must have Islamic morals as an example of what they are fighting for. A religious fighter, distinguished from the public by his morals.
The main purpose of the Islamic struggle is to restore human morals towards its Khaliq. Humans who were created with the purpose of devoting themselves to God, in every age have
experienced a moral crisis, therefore they disobey God, even shirk to Rabbul Jalil. Because of that, the Prophets a.s. have been sent to return people to Allah. The words of the Prophet s.a.w. which mean, "I was only sent to perfect noble morals."
What is the meaning of morality? Manners in terms of language are habits and customs. But in terms of religion it is a strong mental or spiritual state, then from it come good deeds, conversations and
actions easily without needing think or dream. The good results appear by themselves without pretense, in accordance with nature, as a result of the strength of faith that is formed in oneself. Finally, the character of a religious person was embodied.
Allah s.w.t. has said in Surah al-A'raf verse 58 which means, "And the good land, plants flourish with God's permission; and infertile land, its crops do not grow except in a stunted state. Thus We
repeat the signs of Our greatness, for those who are grateful." The comparison presented by Allah is very accurate to be a yardstick for Islamic fighters about the results of the strength of faith that gives birth to morals.
Imam Ghazali r.a. asserted that all human behavior coincides with what is in his heart (faith). Imam Ghazali said, "All the properties found in heart, its influence will definitely be seen in behavior, so that people do not
behave, but in accordance with what is in their heart." Meaning, all our behavior becomes a reflection of the value of faith that has been embedded and believed by everyone.
To become a staunch supporter of Islam, we have gone through a long process of education. It is not only the subordinates who are required to follow tarbiyah harakiyah, but also the leaders. So that everyone than we fight with knowledge, faith and morals. Without
knowledge we must be lazy to fight, without faith we will not rise. Can we rise to fight without morals? It turns out that jihad and morals are "conjoined twins" that are difficult to separate, because morals are born in the believer's self!
