Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.
What's so special about
Madinah?
Madinah Al-Munawwarah is a city that was reopened by Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. when he migrated.
The original name of Madinah is Yathrib. The word Yathrib means sad and sorry and it comes from the name of a Jew who first opened a settlement here.
Every inch and corner of Madinah is a witness to the life of the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w., the
leader of all mankind and the Prophets.
1 - Protected By The Angels From The Dajjal
At the end of time, during the reign of the Dajjal who was said by the Prophet s.a.w. will last for 40 years or 40 months or 40 days, Dajjal will go to all corners of the world and all corners of the village even in the remote forest.
However, there are only 2
cities that the Dajjal will not be able to enter, namely the city of Makkah and the city of Madinah.
Dajjal wants to enter Madinah, but the angels will prevent Dajjal from entering inside. Finally Dajjal will camp outside the forbidden land of Madinah, on a hill.
2 - Forbidden Land
Rasulullah s.a.w. make Madinah a Haram Land, just like Prophet
Ibrahim a.s. made Makkah a Haram Land. Prophet s.a.w. said;
"Indeed, Prophet Ibrahim forbade Makkah and prayed for it and I forbade Madinah just as Prophet Ibrahim forbade Makkah and I prayed for the blessing of the cupak and the bush just as Ibrahim prayed for Makkah."
Prophet s.a.w. proclaimed Madinah as the Haram Land in the 7th year of the Hijrah upon returning from the battle of
Khaibar.
3 - Geographically Strategic
Madinah is located in the middle of a fertile valley, which is surrounded by large rocky areas, traces of volcanic rocks that are already inactive.
Madinah is also surrounded by large hills on the north and south sides, which act as buffers for enemies coming from outside. There is also a hill to the west. This
makes it difficult for the enemy to enter Madinah.
4 - Double Blessing Compared to the Haram Land of Makkah
Anas bin Malik r.a. once narrated from the Prophet s.a.w. that His Majesty s.a.w. pray;
"Oh God, grant blessings in Madinah twice as much as you grant in Makkah."
The hadith is agreed upon by
Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim.
This hadith shows that the land of Madinah has more blessings and is more fertile than Makkah.
5 - The Mount Uhud loved the Messenger and Loved by the Messenger
Throughout the struggle of the Prophet s.a.w. in Madinah, there were many battles that the Prophet s.a.w participated in and many were not accompanied by the
Prophet s.a.w. Almost all wars were won by Rasulullah s.a.w. in a state of minimal injury.
However, Mount Uhud became a witness to the battle of Rasulullah s.a.w. which was fierce and caused serious injury to the Prophet s.a.w. Mount Uhud became a protector for the Prophet when the kuffar of Makkah attacked and responded to the first round of attacks by Muslims.
Prophet s.a.w. once had a
tooth broken here, once stabbed and had his helmet smashed with a rock. Even the Prophet s.a.w. once fainted at Mount Uhud. Until the Prophet s.a.w. once said which implies the love of the Prophet s.a.w. to Mount Uhud,
"This hill loves us, and we love it."
6 - The Best Place To Live For Believers
Rasulullah s.a.w. once
said;
"Madinah is best for them if only they knew." [Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim]
Wallahu'alam.
