For every cent means saving a precious life

The Ansar are a concrete example recorded in history as one with very high characteristic of generosity. 

After being allowed by Allah to emigrate, the Muslims of Mecca settled in the city of Medina.  The Ansar were very enthusiastic about receiving their fellow believers, the Muhajirin. They share their shelter and food happily. In fact, prioritizing everything for the Muhajirin more than themselves. Therefore, it is not surprising that Allah perpetuated this phenomenon in the Qur'an. 

“And those who have occupied the City of Medina and have believed (Ansar) before (the arrival of) them (Emigrants), they love those who emigrated to them. And they have no desire in their hearts for anything that is given to them (the Muhajirin); and they prioritize (the Muhajirin), over themselves. Even if they need (what they give it). And those who are protected from miserliness, those are the lucky ones." (Al-Hashr: 9) 

An-Nu'man ibn Ajlan Al-Ansari said, "We also welcomed the Muhajirin saying, 'Welcome and live with us. Indeed, you will be safe from poverty because we will divide our wealth and our homes among you." 

The Ansar guaranteed housing for the Muhajirin. The Ansar willingly surrendered their homes to the Muhajirin. There are also those who accommodate the Muhajirin to live in their homes. 

The Ansar also shared their crops with the Muhajirin. They proposed to the Prophet to share half of the harvest of their palm groves, but the Prophet asked them to give the Muhajirin to share in their harvest as needed. 

In fact, the Ansar had wanted to donate all their advantages to the Prophet. "If you want, take our houses," they said. The Prophet built residences for his companions on the lands that had been donated by the Ansar and determined that the land did not belong to anyone. 

The Ansar also gave a lot of material assistance to the Muhajirin. They handed it all over to the Prophet to distribute as he wished to the Muhajirin.
