The prosperity of a country depends on the
integrity and solidity of relationships in every layer of society regardless of age, gender, race, religion and culture. Close relationships between neighbors can produce quality community characteristics. As is well known, neighbors are defined as people who live close to our house.
Neighborhood spirit is an important aspect of community life. This spirit is born from our awareness and initiative to make it happen. It needs to be applied in
oneself and society. Islam has emphasized the importance of establishing relationships among the surrounding community. In the neighborhood context, Muslims need to always respect and take care of their personal and property safety.
With the spirit of this neighborhood, a problem can be solved immediately. For example, joint efforts to clean residential areas, public halls, building bridges and so on can be done together. Indirectly this
can strengthen friendship between the residents of the residential area.
One of the ways to foster the spirit of neighborhood is by visiting each other's neighbors. This activity can be done during the festive season, feasts and others. Attitude
concern is also important in generating respect and love for neighbors.
In this era of globalization, selfishness
and the attitude of not caring about others is getting thicker as contained in the Malay proverb "like a deer in a bush releasing its own shoots".
If this is allowed to happen, the spirit of neighborhood will fade and affect the unity of the country. There is also a saying that "united we are strong, divided we fall". Therefore, by increasing the spirit of the neighborhood, unity will be more whole and strong.
After all, living with neighbors is very important in life. This is because it brings many benefits and unites the whole community. It is clear that how important and great the role of neighbors is in shaping the prosperity and well-being of a person country.
Therefore, the community should join hands, as the saying goes, the same weight is carried, the same light is carried in an effort to make neighborly life part of the
practice and culture of society the society.
