Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.
The opening of the City of Makkah began in Ramadan
eighth year of Hijrah.
This culminating event occurred when the Musyrikin of Makkah violated the Treaty of Hudaibiyyah that had been signed with the Muslims.
Among the contents of this agreement, each Arab tribe can choose whether to be an ally of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. or an ally of Quraiysh.
Neither side can go to war for 10 years and neither
side can help the other to go to war.
Unfortunately, in the allied Arab tribes, it was divided into two warring groups, the Bani Bakar and the Bani Khuza'ah.
Bani Bakar allied with Quraiysh Makkah, while Bani Khuza'ah chose to ally with Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.
One night, Bani Bakar with the help of the Quraiysh of Makkah attacked the village of the
Khuza'ah tribe in the Watir Valley.
When the news reached the knowledge of the Messenger of Allah s.a.w., he deployed hundreds thousands of Muslims advanced to Makkah without the knowledge of the Makkah polytheists.
Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. rejected any negotiations with the Quraiysh until the advance of the Muslims was only known when they were about to enter Makkah.
The Musyrikin consist of a small number due to lack of preparation. They were allowed to be in their respective homes, the Haram Mosque and Abu Sufyan's home, he was given respect after he converted to Islam after being captured.
Finally, the Muslims entered the city of Makkah without any bloodshed. This event illustrates the help of Allah s.w.t. to servants who are sincere to Him. Allah s.w.t. mentioned in the
Quran:
"Indeed We give you a real victory." [Surah al-Fath: 1]
Some scholars interpreted it as the victory of opening Makkah.
Fathul Makkah or the opening of Makkah City gives more meaning to true independence.
The first struggle of the apostles was to free the faith and save all
mankind.
The true meaning of independence is to uphold monotheism, that is, God is One and reject the existence of partners for God in all aspects of human life which are divided into aqidah (theology), Sharia (law) and morals which are practiced comprehensively and perfectly in the person and the whole way of human life. .
After taking control of the city of Makkah in a peaceful state, the
curfew in each house was ended. The people of Makkah gathered in front of the Kaabah. Rasulullah s.a.w. declared a mass amnesty.
This is in contrast to the practice of genocide as has occurred in the history of Western wars or revolutions throughout history.
Only a few Meccan polytheists were sentenced to death for serious crimes, even the majority of serious criminals were pardoned when they
surrendered.
Allah's choice of the occurrence of Fathul Makkah in the month of Ramadan is very much in line with its glory and advantages.
Wallahu A'lam
