Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.
THE HISTORY OF TAJWID IN THE
QUR'AN
Al-Qur'an is the word of Allah that Allah revealed to Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. through Jibril. In this holy book, various powers of Allah are summarized regarding everything that exists on earth and in heaven.
The Al-Qur'an is the last book and the perfecting of the previous books, so the rules in reading and keeping it have been arranged by Allah and must be
observed.
From here it is very important that we deepen our knowledge of Tajwid (rules and ways of reading the Qur'an) and it is obligatory that we preserve the recitation of the Qur'an from errors and changes and preserve the tongue (mouth) from reading errors.
As with the Qur'an, the knowledge of Tajwid (rules and methods of reading the Qur'an) also developed gradually from the time of the
Khulafa Ar-Rasyidin to the modern era as it is today. Of course, in the development of Tajwid from the time of Khulafa Ar-Rasyidin until modern times, there are narrators and initiators of the development of Tajwid.
Tajwid according to language (etymology) is: beautifying something. While according to the term, Knowledge of Tajwid is knowledge about the methods and ways of reading the Qur'an in the best possible way.
The purpose of tajwid knowledge is to preserve the recitation of the Quran from errors and changes and to preserve the tongue (mouth) from reading errors. Learning the knowledge of tajwid is fard kifayah, while reading the Qur'an well (according to the knowledge of tajwid) is fard 'Ain.
The origin of the word Tajwid is from the Arabic word jawwada- yujawwidu- tajwiidan following wazan taf'il which means to make something
good. If it is discussed when the knowledge of Tajwid began, then the facts show that this knowledge has started since the Qur'an was revealed to the Prophet s.a.w. This is because Rasulullah s.a.w. himself was ordered to read the Qur'an with tajwid and tartil as mentioned in Surat al-Muzammil verse 4.
وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآَنَ تَرْتِيلًا
"Read the Qur'an with tartil
(slowly)."
Then Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. taught those verses to the companions with a tartil reading.
Wallahu'alam.

The Halaqah: Encompassing Epistle (Fardhu 'Ain Class)
Session 4, This Thursday
8:00pm - 9:30pm
The premiere of The Halaqah exposes participants to an introductory text that stood the test of time with its relevance, due to its aligned syllabus, especially with Singapore Muslim religious practices.
It aims to study daily practices from a traditional perspective while relating them to contemporary circumstances.
The study would cover the three main components of the religion; Iman, Islam, and Ihsan – making it an encompassing text that compiles the important things that all Muslims should know.
The Halaqah welcomes those who want to learn the Religion through the traditional method yet – through modern means (e.g Online and inclusive of Contemporary Topics).
The class is open to those new and old knowledge seekers of Islam.
".....if there is something defective in his obligatory prayers, then Allah will say: “See if my servants have any voluntary prayers that can complete what is insufficient in his obligatory prayers.”

Sisters, it's normal for us to have flaws and face potholes in our journey to become better.
But what makes a difference between those who succeed and does not - is not just only about how many ibadah we do, but also whether we keep trying to become better than before!
Join us as we increase our faith in the best
way possible with the Solat Sunnah & Adaab Workshop - with Ustazah Nazeerah Shaik Alwie (holder of First Class-Honours, Masters in Da'awah [Islamic Propagation] and experienced teacher towards hundreds of students), Every Monday, starting 12 Jun 2023, 8pm to 9:30pm!
Generally, these are matters that need to be attended to when a Muslim passes on and it is by sequence.
1) Settle all burial matters 2) Settle debts owed to others. 3) Settle debts owed to Allah swt ( Zakat, Fidya, Hajj Badal, etc
) 4) Settle what has been willed ( if available ) 5) Distributing wealth to family members ( Faraidh )
So how much do we really know about the above matters?
Do we just leave this to the experts when it is time to come or will it be too late if you discovered that most of the wealth
goes to Baitulmal (Islamic Treasury) and not to the family members? And by then you question and blame the authorities and the religion. This happens when we are ignorant and don't plan toward these important matters
