The Prophet ( saw ), " Whoever revives a Sunnah
of mine that dies out after I am gone, he will have a reward of equivalent to that of these among the people who act upon it, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest".

The Sunnah
‘The Prophet (saw) sacrificed for the one who could not sacrifice from his ummah, one who bore witness to the Oneness of Allah and [his] Prophethood’.
(Tabarani and Ahmad)
This was a Sunnah his Sahabah also used to follow, as Anas bin Malik said, ‘The Prophet (saw) used to sacrifice two rams, and I also sacrifice two rams’.
(Bukhari)
This Eiduladha, why not revive this beautiful Sunnah and give an extra Qurban? There is wisdom in everything the Prophet (saw) did and immense reward in reviving his Sunnah.
Furthermore, giving an extra Qurbani means even more families in need will benefit. So not only will you be doubling your reward by giving a Prophetic Qurban, you will also be doubling your impact.
Sacrifice under the name of the head of the household?
When the Prophet (saw) slaughter the 2 rams, the first was for himself and his family and the second was for the Ummah.
As we know, the sacrifice for sheep or goats is supposed to be under 1 name. Scholars have mentioned in the event that the head of the household couldn't afford it, each family member can contribute also.
Example.
The husband pays half and the
wife pays half. It cannot be named as follows.
This Qurban is for:
1) Syed bin Ali
2) Fatimah binte Mohd
The above example is not allowed.
The correct way is shown
below.
Format: "Name of Head of Family" + Family.
Example. This Qurban is for "Syed & Family".
