The premiere of The Halaqah exposes participants to an introductory text that stood the test of time with its relevance, due to its aligned syllabus, especially with Singapore Muslim religious practices.

It aims to study daily practices from a traditional perspective while relating them to contemporary circumstances.

The study would cover the three main components of the religion; Iman, Islam, and Ihsan – making it an encompassing text that compiles the important things that all Muslims should know.

The Halaqah welcomes those who want to learn the Religion through the traditional method yet – through modern means (e.g Online and inclusive of Contemporary Topics). 

The class is open to those new and old knowledge seekers of Islam.

Death is a very painful and emotional time, yet one that may be filled with hope and mercy. Muslims believe that death is a departure from the life of this world, but not the end of a person's existence. Rather, eternal life is to come, and we pray for Allah's mercy to be with the departed, in hopes that they may find peace and happiness in the next to come.

That is for the person who will face death. But how about the family or relatives? It's very easy to say stay calm and be strong but without the proper knowledge and guidance many times that will not be the case. In some instances, family members break down and make irrational decisions which may cause more problems.

This course will cover the basics of the different cases/situations that will arise in such situations. The 2-day course, which consists of theory and practical.

Generally, these are matters that need to be attended to when a Muslim passes on and it is by sequence.

1) Settle all burial matters
2) Settle debts owed to others.
3) Settle debts owed to Allah swt ( Zakat, Fidya, Hajj Badal, etc )
4) Settle what has been willed ( if available )
5) Distributing wealth to family members ( Faraidh )

So how much do we really know about the above matters?

Do we just leave this to the experts when it is time to come or will it be too late if you discovered that most of the wealth goes to Baitulmal (Islamic Treasury) and not to the family members? And by then you question and blame the authorities and the religion. This happens when we are ignorant and don't plan toward these important matters
