Libya Floods Emergency

Thousands of people are still missing, estimated 40,000 people were displaced as a results of the floods that occured on 10th September 2023. In addition, numbers of victims that are affected by the flash floods are in need of assistance including 230,000 women and girls of reproductive
age.
Damage to roads, telecommunications networks and other communal infrastructure is complicating rescue and relief efforts and access to the affected areas has been challenging. With the obstacles and challenges face, UNHCR is urging donors to
support with over 18,000 floods victims in ten affected areas, including 6,000 people in Derna.
UNHCR calls on donors to show solidarity and provide timely and lifesaving support to the thousands of men, women and children
affected by the devastating floods in Libya. We urgently need your help to assist those affected.
