Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
In the name of
Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.
Death as a reminder
Every Muslim is advised to always pray for a good end in life.
Death is in fact a natural part of life and the secret of Allah s.w.t. which no one knows about. The cause of death varies, regardless of background and age.
Death can involve our family members, relatives and close friends. News about death makes it feel closer to us. No one can escape death. Allah s.w.t. said in Surah al-Jumu'ah verse 8 means, "Say (O Muhammad): 'The truth is that death from which you fled, it will still meet you, then you will be returned to God who knows
everything unseen and manifest, then He tells you what you do (and responds to it).'”
As a Muslim, when we hear the news of a death, we are encouraged to express our condolences, give patience and pray, take care of the body, accompany it to the cemetery and ease the burden of the deceased's family members.
Remembering death is a religious demand. The wisdom of remembering death is so that we can prepare ourselves with righteous deeds and improve the quality of our
practices in line with the demands of Sharia.
Therefore, a person who remembers death will hasten good deeds and prevent himself from committing immoral acts.
Those who realize how close the distance is between themselves and death, their intellect and mind will immediately tell them to hurry to do good, increase remembrance and provide benefits in life.
However, remembering death does not weaken the spirit to live, it even makes us try to live life as a
better Muslim.
Every Muslim is advised to always pray for a good end in life. The state of death that husnul khatimah or su'ul khatimah becomes a real value in the eyes of Allah s.w.t. at the last moment practice is done in life.
Let us all pray for the well-being of those who left us first and prepare ourselves to face the moment of death.
