Afghanistan Earthquake Emergency
On 7 October 2023, Afghanistan was hit by a 6.3-magnitude earthquake. It
was then followed by three very strong aftershocks with a magnitude of 6.3, 5.9, and 5.5.
Over 12,000 people have been affected by the deadliest earthquake, and 500 people are still missing.
The majority are being treated in the Herat Regional Hospital and to date, 552 patients are currently being treated, including 81 men, 199 women, 229 children, and 43 unknown. In addition, it has also confirmed the number of deaths is 252.
