Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your
forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.
Getting to know Allah's creation with Tadabbur Alam
Nowadays, traveling has become a necessity for everyone. The density of daily activities makes us need to refresh so that our minds are fresh and enthusiastic.
Traveling, whether to other cities, mountains,
beaches or exploring the forest, is an option that is now easy to achieve. However, many of us forget. When traveling, it is not only used for fun. It is also about knowing, understanding and studying Allah SWT's creation.
As Allah says in surah al-Ghasiyah verses 17 to 21 which means "So do they not pay attention to how the camel was created? And heavens, how it is raised? And the mountains how are they established? And
the earth how is it spread? So give a warning, because in fact you are only one who gives a warning."
From this fragment of surah al-Ghasiyah, we can understand that as humans, creatures whom Allah SWT gave reason, can reflect on how Allah's creation came to be. When we go to the mountains, think about how the trees grow thickly. How the animals in the forest look for food without worry. How can water in the upstream river reach the
downstream sea?
Of course, all of this happened because of God's will alone. Believers who think will certainly understand that everything that happens in nature was not created by Allah in vain. The plants in the forest that grow densely provide food for animals. Likewise the flowing river water. Give the animals water when the sun is hot. Everything is sustainable.
These are signs of the
greatness of Allah SWT. As for believers, natural tadabbur is a means of increasing faith. The greater our love for Allah SWT. Because because of Him we can enjoy this beautiful nature. We should also fear Allah more and more.
As in surah Ali-Imran verse 190-191 which means "those who remember Allah while standing or sitting or lying down and they think about the creation of the heavens and the
earth (saying): "Our Lord, You did not create this is in vain. Glory be to You, so protect us from the torment of hell."
Don't let our traveling be wasted just to have fun. Of course, a Muslim can have a hobby of traveling, without forgetting to be grateful for Allah SWT's creation.
Wallahua'lam.
