Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.
When people are asked: "Which prayer is the most often recited by Muslims?"
Many answered it incorrectly. Most of us does not understand when reciting this prayer. The prayer that we recite daily.
A powerful
prayer which includes our needs in this world and the hereafter. A prayer that we recite minimum of 17 times per day.
That prayer is a prayer between two prostrations. Let us live and understand its meaning:
RABBIGHFIRLI
O' Allah, forgive me. Sin is a burden, which makes it difficult for us to step towards Allah's pleasure. Sin is the dirt of the heart that makes the heart dark, so that our heart feels very heavy to do
good.
WARRHAMNI
Have mercy on me. If we are loved by Allah, life will be calm, because with His mercy all ambitions will be achieved. With Allah's love, our passions will be guided and educated.
WAJBURNI
Support me. There are many shortcomings, such as lack of gratitude, lack of patience, lack of acceptance of reality, low tolerance for frustration, vengeful and others. With His
support and with His wills, we are able be a better human being.
WARFA'NI
Elevate me. If our rank is being raised by Allah, no one will look down and or insult us.
WARZUQNI
Provide for me. As servants of Allah, we need sustenance, Allah is able to bring sustenance from unexpected and priceless ways.
WAHDINI
Guide me. We are not
just asking for religious guidance, but, we also ask for guidance to avoid making wrong decisions.
WA'AFINI
Protect me. When we are healthy, we seek protection and good health as well as goodness. It is to prevent us from being burden to others.
WA'FUANHI
I beg that my mistake be removed from the record.
The prayer begins and ends with asking for forgiveness from Allah
so that we are truly cleansed from sin.
Sometimes the question is, where are our hearts and minds, when we read the prayer? and do we not memorize the meaning as well?
Even though the prayer is very great and there are still many people who recite it in hurry. One should have tuma'ninah by truly asking Allah s.w.t.
Wallahu'alam
