Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know. Ameen.
Art that is born from culture is the closest part of humans and Islam is a religion that regulates the course of human life by viewing everything as having to rely on goodness, morality and propriety so that it conforms to the breath of
Islam which is rahmatan lil alamin.
Islam never prohibits or rejects all forms of artistic works from which peace of mind can be born, sensitivity of feelings is trained, and gentleness is honed. Because Allah created the entire universe based on beauty with all forms of harmony and order, as revealed in Surah
Al-Hijr verse 16:
وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجًا وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا لِلنَّ ٰظِرِينَ
Meaning: "Indeed, We have created a cluster of stars (in the sky) and We have
decorated the sky for those who look at it."
Then it is shown again in Surah As-Saffat verse 6:
God willing
Meaning: "Indeed,
We have decorated the heavens of the world with decorations in the form of stars."
Thus, works of art must not be works that are deliberately created to arouse the low tastes of human lust or these works are not worthy of being called art, but are more accurately described as hedonistic ignorance that must be rejected.
Wallahua'lam.
