In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know.
Ameen.
Counting the days to Ramadhan Last year, when Ramadhan was coming to an end, there must have been a few who felt sad in their hearts because this truly glorious month would leave us in a state where we could feel how little we took advantage of this month's
presence.
Usually, there are people who are happy when Ramadhan ends because the Malay culture will celebrate Syawal so festively that like Syawal it is much more important than filling in worship in the month of Ramadhan. The Syawal festival
lasts for a month while Ramadhan is used as a moment to party, break the fast and prepare for Hari Raya. Raya songs have been played over and over again in shopping malls to attract the attention of shoppers.
However, there are also those who
express gratitude because Ramadhan is approaching and too close to be celebrated. At the end of last Ramadhan, there must have been people who prayed that God would give them another chance to meet Ramadhan because they wanted to race to pursue enlightenment.
Allahumma Ballighna Ramadhan, the prayer repeated by the Prophet s.a.w when approaching this glorious month. It is narrated that when the month of Rajab arrives, then the Messenger of Allah will pray 'O Allah, bless us in the months of Rajab and Sha'ban, and bring us to the month of Ramadan' (Records of Al-Bazzar, At-Thabrani, Al-Baihaqi).
The companions who were with Rasulullah s.a.w were educated with this great theme; Allahumma Ballighna Ramadhan. For that reason, the friends welcome and look forward to Ramadan with longing and love. He said that the prayer was recited six months before Ramadhan hoping to meet him. Then, six months after Ramadhan, there were tears
because of the passing of Ramadhan.
As a Muslim, it is recommended that we can really celebrate this Ramadhan as required by Islam and not as demanded by our lust. Hopefully this Ramadan will give us the strength to build our identity as a Muslim
who believes and fulfill our responsibility to be Allah's caliph on this earth.
Wallahu'alam.
