In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know.
Ameen.
During the month of Ramadhan, it is recommended to read and understand surah Al Qadr which explains about the special night of Lailatul Qadr.
Muslims are encouraged to
recite this surah on the night of Lailatul Qadr, which falls in the last 10 nights of the month of Ramadan. Allah s.w.t. had promise reward and forgiveness for his servants in this night that is better than a thousand months.
In addition to its special features, this surah which is consist of five verses also tells the story of the revelation of the Qur'an on the night of Lailatul Qadr.
Here is the translation of each verse of Surah Al Qadr:
1. Verily We have revealed it (the Qur'an) on the night of Qadr.
2. And do you know what the night of glory is?
3. The night of glory is
better than a thousand months.
4. On that night the angels and Ruh (Jibril) came down with the permission of God to arrange all matters.
5. Be prosperous (that night) until dawn.
The special night of Lailatul Qadr is found in the fourth verse which has the
meaning, "On that night the angels and the spirit (Jibril) descended with the permission of God to arrange all matters."
Based on the fourth verse, it can be understood that the angels descend with descending of blessings and mercy, and to send peace of those who practice and worship that night.
Allah s.w.t. will also provide sustenance
for those who live the night of Lailatul Qadr. All good deeds done on the night of Lailatul Qadr will be rewarded multiple times.
Thus, let's start to read surah Al-Qadr considering that we have already entered the second half of the month of Ramadhan.
Wallahu'alam.
