For every cent means saving a precious life

Baitul Maqdis is the term used by the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, to refer to Palestine, while the pronunciation of "Palestine" that we know now is British and its flag. 

Baitul Maqdis is also another name for Masjidil Aqsa, which is a holy land blessed by Allah swt and is one of the areas sanctified by three religions at once, namely Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.

Then what is the correlation and importance of Baitul Maqdis with Muslims?

1. The First Qibla of Muslims

In the past, before the Qibla moved, the Prophet, peace be upon him, and his companions prayed in the Ka'bah and the Prophet's Mosque while facing the Aqsa Mosque. 16-17 months after the hijrah, Allah swt moved the direction of the Qibla to the Kaaba. Where the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, faced the direction of the Aqsa Mosque for 13 years and the Kaaba for 10 years until he died.

2. Witness the Isra Mi'raj journey of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him

Baitul Maqdis has an important meaning for Muslims because it has been a stopping point and a witness to the Isra' Mi'raj journey of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who has outlined the Al-Aqsa Mosque as a base for Buraq to continue his journey to the gates of heaven.

3. Become a place where humans will be resurrected later

Padang Mahsyar is located in Baitul Maqdis.  All humans from the time of Prophet Adam until the last human, will be resurrected in Baitul Maqdis.

In the hadith narrated by Shu'aib al-Arnaut from the line of Abu Hakim bin Muawiyah, it is mentioned about the Messenger of Allah.  who conveys that Sham is the land where people gather or Padang Mahsyar on earth at the time of the Day of Judgment.

"The Prophet's hand pointed towards Sham, and said, 'That is where you will gather, with bare feet or vehicles or walking upside down (head down) on the Day of Resurrection.  Seventy people (groups) will die, and you are the best and most noble among them for Allah azza wa jalla.'" (HR Syu'aib Al Arnaut on the authority of Abu Hakim bin Muawiyah, with an authentic chain of transmission).
