In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You in any way, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know.
Ameen.
Many of us often overlook this aspect or are not mindful about this concept of respect for other people.
In simple terms, respect is a form of our attitude when we do
not regard a situation or person as trivial or trivial. Respecting others is a symbol of implementing an attitude of tolerance in responding to differences, whether in the form of words, culture, religion or ethnicity. When we apply an attitude of mutual respect, it will make people to understand the meaning of religion.
Treating others with respect does not entail being weak, however, by teaching others to
respect our perspectives, we have also made them more accepting of our judgements and avoided arguments. Consequently, it is evident that respect does not imply weakness or defeat but rather that we are more mature individuals with distinct viewpoints.
Apart from that, respecting is a noble value in human. Wherever and whenever we stand, When we act with a respectful attitude, people will open their hearts to us and
respect us in return. Despite our differences in viewpoints, we still need to focus on communication in order to foster more harmonic collaboration and prevent conflicts between the two sides.
In the Qur'an there is advice regarding the importance of respecting other people. The Word of Allah SWT.
Meaning: ''And if you are
honored with a (greeting) respect, then return the respect with something better, or return (the respect, commensurate) with it. Indeed, Allah takes everything into account.'' (QS. An-Nisa: 86)
Meaning: "Indeed, believers are brothers, therefore make peace between your two brothers (who are at odds) and fear Allah so that you may receive mercy." (QS. Al-Hujurat: 10)
Wallahu'alam.
