The power of reading Basmallah is very great for Muslims, so it is recommended to read it every time you do an activity.
This Basmalah is recited every day by all Muslims, including during prayer, before reading the Quran,
and prior to starting any activity. This reading is part of the Muslim zikir to Allah s.w.t.
This will certainly bring goodness and blessings to the activity or activities you do. Therefore, by
knowing the importance of reading Basmallah, a Muslim should be able to apply it in everyday life.
1. Prevention from Syaitan
The first advantage of reading Basmallah is that it can create a barrier between humans and syaitan.
By starting everything with Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, with Allah's will; the Syaitan cannot interfere with the activities carried out. That way, Muslims will be spared from bad behavior and deviating from religion.
A hadith mentioned
that:
"When a servant recites the word bismillah, the devil will surely be destroyed as tin is destroyed in the fire." (HR. Muslim)
2. Opener of Fortune
The phrase Bismillahirrahmanirrahim will make all goals go smoothly and get blessings in every step.
From Abu Hurairah, the Prophet s.a.w. said,
"Any important matter that does not begin with 'bismillahirrahmanir rahim', the practice is cut off from its blessings." (HR. Al-Khatib).
3. Eliminating Minor Sins
The next priority of reciting Basmallah is as
an expiator of sins. Reciting Basmallah can erase all minor sins that have been committed by a Muslim.
This is stated in a hadith, which means:
"Whoever recites the bismillah sentence, then there is not a single bit of small sins left." (HR. Muttafaqun Alaih)
4. Blessed by Allah s.w.t
The importance of reading Basmallah has been narrated in many ways, including the following sayings of the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.:
When the verse Bismillahirahmanirrahim was revealed, the clouds fled to the east, the wind did not move but the sea was rough, the animals listened attentively to what was happening, the demons were stoned or hurled fire arrows from the sky and God swore by His glory and greatness- It is that mentioning His name over something will surely shower blessings on that something (HR Ibnu Marwah).
