Assalammualaikum wr wb,
Dear
,
We hope you are in the best of health and iman and always in the protection of Allah swt.
Over 87% of us know someone struggling with Mental Health. Let’s address this
together.
Singapore’s mental health landscape within our Muslim community has reached a critical point. A recent survey by APKIM revealed that 87% of Singaporean Muslims know someone facing mental health challenges like anxiety or depression. But it doesn’t stop there—Malay youth are 1.9 times more likely than their peers to experience mental health
struggles, with over 30% showing symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Behind these statistics are real stories of our loved ones suffering in silence.
Many feel trapped, unable to speak up because of the stigma
that surrounds mental health, particularly in our community where faith and mental health often intersect in complex ways. Conditions like OCD and anxiety can fuel feelings of guilt, isolation, and imperfection, making the journey to healing even harder.
We can’t afford to look away any longer. This is our call to action.
The 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, happening on 16 November at Suntec Singapore, is our community’s chance to confront these challenges together. We’re bringing together top mental health experts and faith-based leaders who understand the unique pressures our community faces. Together, we’ll explore how spirituality can support mental
well-being and resilience, helping us balance life’s pressures with faith.
Here’s what you can expect:
☑️ Insightful talks and workshops on how to manage anxiety and
OCD, and find strength through spirituality
☑️ Practical tools for building resilience in a high-pressure world
☑️ A supportive community of like-minded individuals who believe in breaking the silence on mental health
