Infaq & Zakat – Maximize Your Rewards This Ramadan
Ramadan is the perfect time to multiply our rewards through Infaq (charity) and fulfilling one of Islam’s pillars—Zakat. Many choose this blessed month to pay their Zakat, as good deeds are greatly rewarded during this period.
Did You Know There Are Two Types of Zakat?
1️⃣ Zakat
Fitrah
This is an obligatory contribution for all Muslims during Ramadan, payable until the Eid morning prayer. The head of the family typically pays on behalf of dependents, including spouses, children, and elderly family members who cannot pay for themselves.
- In Singapore, the Zakat Fitrah rate is $5 or $7.90 per person, depending on the rice
type.
- Zakat Fitrah must be paid in the country where you reside.
- In Singapore, only MUIS is authorized to collect Zakat through mosques, the MUIS office, or online at www.Zakat.sg.
2️⃣ Zakat on Wealth
This applies to Muslim individuals and businesses that meet specific criteria.
Who Needs to Pay Zakat on Wealth?

✅ Have
savings or business profits that meet the Nisab value
✅ The wealth must have reached Haul (one full year)
✅ Can be paid anytime, not limited to Ramadan
