Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Alhamdulillah, the most sacred nights of
Ramadan are here. 🤲
These nights offer a unique chance for us to deepen our connection with Allah Almighty, and seek His Divine Blessings and Mercy, Insha’Allah.
Laylatul Qadr, occurring within these last ten
nights, is described in the Qur’an as "better than a thousand months." Engaging in worship on this night multiplies the rewards tenfold.
So, what are some of the things we can do? Here are some practices you can consider doing in the last 10 nights:
1. Perform Qiyam al-Layl
Engaging in voluntary night prayers during these nights brings immense spiritual benefits. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
"Whoever stands in prayer during Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven." (Sahih Bukhari)
2. Engage in I'tikaf
Devoting time to seclusion in the mosque allows for focused worship and reflection. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) regularly observed I'tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan.
3. Recite and Reflect Upon the Qur’an
The Qur’an was revealed during Ramadan, making its recitation particularly significant. Reflecting on its meanings enhances spiritual growth.
"It was in the month of Ramadan that the Quran was revealed as guidance for mankind, clear messages giving guidance and distinguishing between right and wrong." (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:185)
4. Increase in Dhikr,
Salawat and Du’a
Consistently reciting dhikr, sending salutations upon our beloved Prophet (ﷺ) and making heartfelt supplications draw us closer to Him. Allah Almighty says:
فَاذْكُرُونِي
أَذْكُرْكُمْ
"So remember Me; I will remember you." (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:152)
"Say, ‘If you love God, follow me, and God will love you and forgive you your sins; God is most forgiving, most merciful.’" (Surah Ali 'Imran, 3:31)
5. Give in
Charity
Acts of charity, especially during Ramadan, carry multiplied rewards, immense blessings and purify one's wealth.
Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
“The Prophet (ﷺ) was the most generous of all the people, and he used to become more generous in Ramadan when Gabriel met him. Gabriel used to meet him every night during Ramadan to revise the Qur'an with him. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) then used to be more generous than the fast wind.” [Sahih Al Bukhari]
