14 Rejab 1446H / 14 January 2025 Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi
wabarakatuh, We pray this message finds you in the best of health and steadfast iman. To those returning from your travels, welcome back to the rhythm of daily life. As we embrace the sacred month of Rajab, it’s a timely reminder to reflect and prepare ourselves spiritually for the months ahead. On the Khutbah by Office of Mufti on the 3rd of January 2025 reminded us that currently we are at the checkpoint. What check point are we talking about? The month of Rejab is your checkpoint—a sacred time for you to pause, reflect, and realign your heart and actions. It’s not just another month; it’s your chance to prepare yourself spiritually
for the blessings of Ramadan. Rejab is one of the four sacred months in Islam, a time when your good deeds are magnified, and your connection to Allah can grow deeper if you allow it.
It’s Your Pre-Ramadan Warm-Up:
Think of Rejab as the perfect time for you to get into the rhythm of worship. Ramadan is just around the corner, and now is when you start setting the tone.
Whether it’s fasting, praying more, or focusing on your Qur’an recitation, this is your moment to ease into the spiritual habits you want to maintain. How Can You Make the Most of Rejab?- Reflect and Reset: Take time to evaluate where you are spiritually. Are there habits you need to change? This is your chance to reset and renew your
intentions.
- Increase Your Worship: Add a few extra sunnah prayers, make more du’a, or spend more time with the Qur’an. Even small steps can bring you closer to Allah.
- Fast for Your Soul: Consider fasting on some days in Rejab, even if it’s just Mondays and Thursdays. Fasting isn’t just an act of worship—it’s a way for you to train your patience and
self-discipline.
- Give Generously: Charity is one of the best ways to earn rewards, especially in a sacred month. Whether it’s a small donation or helping someone in need, your generosity counts more now.
Du'a Often Associated with Rajab:The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) used to make this du’a at the start of Rejab:
Rajab is a time to renew one's commitment to Allah, focus on repentance, and prepare spiritually for the upcoming holy months. |

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “The sins between one umrah and another are wiped away, but for an acceptable hajj, there is no reward except paradise.” (Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim) Pilgrimage to Mecca, also known as hajj, is an obligation for a Muslim who is physically and financially able. It is one of the five pillars of Islam and for most Muslims, it is the dream of a lifetime. Particularly for Hajj, it needs to be paid for with pure savings and because you cannot borrow money to perform Hajj, Muslims are encouraged to save and invest for this expense as soon as possible. Save and invest to fulfil the 5th pillar of our faith.
