Let’s Share the Journey – NISA Conference Singapore 2025
Â
The spark for the NISA Conference was ignited back in 2024 when we received a message from Sis Aizan of Light Upon Light. Knowing
her legacy in organising impactful conferences across Malaysia and Singapore, we knew something meaningful was brewing.
Bringing a major conference to life is no small feat. It carries high risk, demands months of preparation, and — most importantly — requires time to build trust, momentum, and connection with the community.
But the challenges have
only grown.
With stricter Ministry of Manpower regulations around overseas work permits, bringing in international speakers has become more complicated than ever. Add to that the rising costs of venue bookings, flights, accommodation, manpower… and you’ll understand why running large-scale events today feels like walking a tightrope.
Still, we knew the
message and mission behind NISA was worth every bit of the effort.
Because we’re not just planning another event —
We’re creating a platform.
We’re sparking a movement.
We’re building a space to inspire.
The Choice of Speakers
When
it came to choosing our lineup, we didn’t just chase popularity. Let’s be honest: while big names can fill seats, they often come with hefty demands — business class flights, personal assistants, sometimes even travel coverage for their entire families.
It’s not just about the cost. It’s about our values. We’re running a community-powered event, and we want to ensure every dollar goes where it truly matters.
That’s why we focused on speakers who are sincere, impactful, and deeply aligned with the NISA vision — women of knowledge, substance, and heart.
Of course, that’s Sis Aizan’s department.Â
Â
Our role? Making it happen right here in Singapore.
When we first saw the speaker list, we had questions too:
Why these names? Why not the usual favourites?
Besides Dr. Tamara Gray who has many students globally and Wardina Safiyyah (former celebrity in Malaysia), many Singaporeans may not have heard of Ms. Amal Albaaz or Sis
Nathalie Bondetti. But after doing some homework — reading their stories, seeing their impact — we were blown away.
These are women who have built resilient communities, uplifted voices, and championed change in their own unique ways. And now, they’re bringing their stories to NISA — to share, to connect, and to inspire us all.
We'll share more about our speakers in the next series of NISA Conference
emails.
