Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Allah placed Rajab before Ramadan for a reason. It is one of the four sacred months. Sacred because time itself carries more weight, And every deed within it is no longer ordinary. Allah reminds us: “Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve… of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them.” (Surah At-Tawbah: 36) Notice Allah’s words carefully. He does not say, “Do not wrong Me.” He says, “Do not wrong yourselves.” Because every sin, in its essence, It is an act of self-harm. It harms the heart. It burdens the soul. And it slowly distances us from Allah. A prayer delayed. A harsh word spoken in exhaustion. Neglecting knowledge when learning is within reach. The Prophet ﷺ reminded us: “Seeking knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim.” Growth in faith is not optional, especially when Allah opens the door. Allah tells us gently again: “Whatever strikes you as hardship is because of what your own hands have earned, yet He pardons much.” (Surah Ash-Shura: 30) Sins do not disappear. They return to us. In our restlessness. In our unanswered du‘a. In the weight we carry into the next life. But Rajab is not about fear alone. It is about mercy before arrival. Before Ramadan asks for discipline, Rajab offers awareness. Before standing long in prayer, Rajab invites us to clean the heart. This month, Your prayer is brighter. Your fasting is heavier on the
scale. Your charity travels further. Your return to Allah is softer. Do not wait for Ramadan to change. Begin noticing Allah now. One sincere prayer. One moment of restraint. One
step closer today. May we reach Ramadan with hearts prepared. Astaghfirullahal ‘azim, and I repent to Him. “O Allah, bless us in the months of Rajab and Sha'ban, and reach us to the month of Ramadan.” Wallahu a’lam.
