Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Monday, 18 May 2026 | 1 Zulhijjah 1447H
Today marks the first of Dhulhijjah. In just ten days, we will witness Eidul Adha—a time of remembrance, sacrifice, and renewal. Allah has created these days as truly special. The Prophet ﷺ said, “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” (Bukhari)
Yet, the weight of these days is easy to overlook. Life continues: work, family, daily routines. But Allah, in His mercy, has gathered immense opportunities for us in this short window—opportunities to draw closer to Him, to renew our intentions, and to serve others.
Qurban: The Sunnah of Preparation
As we approach Eidul Adha, many of us are preparing to offer Qurban. The Prophet ﷺ taught us a beautiful sunnah for those intending to offer a sacrifice: "When the ten days of Dhulhijjah begin, and one of you intends to offer a sacrifice, let him not remove anything from his hair or nails until he has
offered his sacrifice." (Muslim)
This practice is a subtle but powerful way to share in the spirit of the pilgrims. It is a reminder to honor the sanctity of these days and to approach the act of Qurban with full presence and reverence.
If you have registered for Qurban this year, remember to observe this sunnah as a sign of devotion and unity with Muslims around the world.
