This week, we turn our attention to Masjid Mujahidin in Queenstown, a mosque whose history is deeply woven into the fabric of Singapore’s Muslim community. Established in 1977 as the second mosque under the Mosque Building Fund, Masjid Mujahidin has, for decades, been a place of prayer, learning, and service. Its doors have welcomed generations—through
upgrades, expansions, and even the transfer of congregants from other mosques. The mosque’s story is one of resilience and generosity: from correcting its qibla, to receiving a gift from King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, to launching its first Qur’anic studies centre in 2015. Today, it stands not only as a place of worship, but as a heritage site and a symbol of Queenstown’s living legacy.
Why We Fundraise: The Needs of
Our Mosque
Ramadan brings with it unique needs and opportunities. This year, Masjid Mujahidin seeks your support to sustain and enhance its vital Ramadan activities:
- Iftar & Porridge Distribution: Providing daily meals for the fasting, a tradition that brings immense reward and joy to our community.
- Honorarium for Imam & Bilal Terawih:
Supporting those who lead us in nightly prayers and spiritual guidance.
- Qiyamullail & Hari Raya Prayers: Facilitating the night prayers and Eid celebrations that unite us in devotion and gratitude.
- Al-Quran Programs & Khataman Ceremony: Enabling Qur’anic learning and the completion of recitation—a cherished milestone for many.
- Mosque Operations & Maintenance: Ensuring the mosque
remains a safe, welcoming, and functional space for all.
Every contribution, whether large or small, is an investment in the spiritual and communal life of Queenstown.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”
(Bukhari &
Muslim)
Let us be among those who support the houses of Allah, especially in these blessed days.
