The December holidays are here and most of you would have already made plans to travel abroad for your holidays. For those going for Umrah, we would like to wish Umrah Mabruh in advance and do make doa for all the Singaporeans here too. It is said that the dua of a servant infront of the Kaabah are among the duas that may come true in this lifetime. Insyallah.
December also marks the end of the working period for most of us, some of our staff will be on leave and there will be lesser people manning our phone, systems and don't be surprise that your orders - event tickets, aqiqah orders and infaq payments will also be updated slower compared to other periods. So we hope you would have more patience with our staff during this time.
However business still goes on, our admins are always updating the events, services and infaq projects and our bosses are still going around finding new projects for the coming new year.
Well thats from our end. How about you? We know some of you have been reading our newsletters since our inception in 2007. Wow, thats how long we have been around and hope you don't get bored reading our updates. And we apologise for not getting more feedback from you since these last few years.
Insyallah, in the next few weeks we will be sending out a survey form for us to get to know you - our readers better and we would also want to know what you think about us.
Upcoming projects..
We have recently engaged Mdm Suliyati, the founder of @MuslimParents.SG to write a series of articles for first time Fathers and Mothers to be.
I personally remembered the time when my wife got pregnant with my first child and at the same time I remembered being clueless to how to manage the situations the next 9 months. I know there are thousands of books out there to read about it.
Thats the problem, there are too many books to read. Where would one find the time to do so right? Tell that to husbands, they will tell you to fly kite and they will say that they will learn from experience (when the EGO starts talking). They would then prefer to watch youtube or watch netflix. And the wives will get turn off at this point and so the trouble begins. An unhappy pregnant wife and an unprepared husband and let's be truthful the future generations can be worse
if not guided properly.
That's why we thought of this guide. It's not suppose to be a book but just some pages of guide to help the couple survive these blessed periods before the wife gives birth. Especially one that's coming from a Muslim perspective.
The articles will be published for free and it will also be turned to an e-guide, so that you can download it for reference in the future.
This project is currently 50% completed.

Who is Meqar?

MEQAR is a department under Mujahidin Mosque which focuses on Quran Education and training of Quran Teachers on the Qiraati methodology. They have trained more than 500 Quran teachers using the Qiraati methodology. In this collaboration, Meqar will advise Islamicevents.sg on suitable Quran Teachers that are ready to be matched.

How do we match you with the Quran Teacher?

- Location: We recognise that location plays an important role. We would not want to match a family and a teacher who lives on the other end of Singapore. We will match best by locating the Quran Teacher that is closest to you.
- Experience: Teaching children and teaching adults can be very different. Some of our Quran Teachers are well trained in handling children than adults and they prefer to teach children. Vice versa, you would want a Quran Teacher to be able to handle kids or children.
- Knowledge: You may prefer to have a more knowledgable Quran Teacher as you may only want to improve on Tajweed or embarking on Sanads. Some Quran Teachers can teach until a certain level. If you advance further, you may need to have another teacher to teach advance reading methodology.

Little Sahabah After School Program
Dear Busy Parents,
Are you looking for a center where your primary school child (7 years old to 14 years old) can be taken care of while you are busy at work after they are done with school (1.30pm to 7pm)?
Wish that your child reads the Quran daily and have someone to ensure that they perform their prayers?
Introducing the “Little Sahabah After School Program”
In this program, your child would be guided by a trained teacher with their homework and spelling tests, have daily Quran reading and memorisation sessions with a qualified Quran teacher. Furthermore they will be engaged under a program called Ghazali Project. They will also be taught and encouraged to perform the solat daily and fasts in
Ramadan.
What is the Ghazali Project?

Daily schedule will be as follows.
* 1:30pm – 3:00pm: Arrival, Washing up, Lunch, Solat Zuhr.
* 3.00pm – 4.00pm: Supervised Homework
* 4.00pm – 5:00pm : Quran Reading, Revisions, Memorisation
* 5.00pm – 5.30pm: Tea Break and Solat Asr
* 5:30pm – 6.00pm: The Ghazali Project - Learning Skills (Integrated Program)
* 6.00pm – 6.30pm: Show & Tell / Group work / Story telling
* 6:30pm – 7:00pm: Games / Wind-down & Debrief.
