Since we are in the month of Rabiul-Akhir, do we know what it means? Actually do we know the meanings of January to December? If you do please share it to us.
For the month of Rabiul-Akhir or also known as Rabiul-Thani which means the second spring. It is the month where many great Muslim saints pass away and usually in Singapore, we have many events called Haul. Example Haul Habib Nuh and others.
This has been a practised by many generations in our society. Firstly note that such events is not about worshipping such saints. It is mere remembrance of the work and sacrifices they have done to spread Islam in this region in peace. What's amazing if you do read the history of Islam in Southeast asia is that Islam came here without anybody going to War. It was through trade that our ancestors learn it from the Arab traders and it eventually reached the kings of that time, which
eventually adopted Islam as their state religion.
Perhaps we would approach our historians to share more so that such knowledge don't get lost down our generations. And we the current generation shouldn't stop sharing such information to our children too. History is what made us today. Let's not lose it.
Upcoming projects..
Based on the people we meet the last few weeks, we are excited about the new events that will happen in 2019 insyallah.
Among the events that we intend to collaborate with another organisation is to run Islamic Inheritance Course. We've been running Islamic Funeral Death Rites courses for many years and we do realise it shouldn't stop there, there should be a follow up course for this. It took us more than 2 years to find the right team and we felt that this is just right. A team that consists of Asatizahs and professionals that have current knowledge of Islamic Inheritance in
Singapore.
It is said that during the 'End of Times', among the first ayats that will be lifted from the Quran and the hearts of Muslims are the ayats that mentions about Inheritance.
Narrated by Abu Hurairah r.a that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: "O Abu Hurairah. Learn about the inheritance and teach it, for it is half of knowledge, but it will be forgotten. This is the first thing that will be taken away from my nation."
There's a lot to cover on this particular topic from faraidh, wills, nuzriah and others depending on the family's situation. But this is not the place to talk further. As we planned this out, we would like to get your interest. If you like to know more, please email us back and you will be first to get the updates on this course.
Besides that, there will also be Islamic Financial Planning Courses for Couples or soon to be Couples. We thought this is necessary because most Marriage Courses does not have a very comprehensive training for this because they are not able to squeeze it in. What's more worrying is that financial issues are the 3rd main cause of divorces after cheating on spouse and communications breakdown.
And another seminar that we are going to talk about is RIBA (usuary or known as interest). If you are on facebook or instagram, we see many people talk about it and it seems like there is no solution. Some even goes to the extreme by saying to move out from this country and live in another Islamic country. Well that may work for a few of us but majority of us love Singapore and we have family here but do we know how to navigate the financial world to minimise debt and cleanse
riba?

Who is Meqar?

MEQAR is a department under Mujahidin Mosque which focuses on Quran Education and training of Quran Teachers on the Qiraati methodology. They have trained more than 500 Quran teachers using the Qiraati methodology. In this collaboration, Meqar will advise Islamicevents.sg on suitable Quran Teachers that are ready to be matched.

How do we match you with the Quran Teacher?

- Location: We recognise that location plays an important role. We would not want to match a family and a teacher who lives on the other end of Singapore. We will match best by locating the Quran Teacher that is closest to you.
- Experience: Teaching children and teaching adults can be very different. Some of our Quran Teachers are well trained in handling children than adults and they prefer to teach children. Vice versa, you would want a Quran Teacher to be able to handle kids or children.
- Knowledge: You may prefer to have a more knowledgable Quran Teacher as you may only want to improve on Tajweed or embarking on Sanads. Some Quran Teachers can teach until a certain level. If you advance further, you may need to have another teacher to teach advance reading methodology.

Little Sahabah After School Program
Dear Busy Parents,
Are you looking for a center where your primary school child (7 years old to 14 years old) can be taken care of while you are busy at work after they are done with school (1.30pm to 7pm)?
Wish that your child reads the Quran daily and have someone to ensure that they perform their prayers?
Introducing the “Little Sahabah After School Program”
In this program, your child would be guided by a trained teacher with their homework and spelling tests, have daily Quran reading and memorisation sessions with a qualified Quran teacher. Furthermore they will be engaged under a program called Ghazali Project. They will also be taught and encouraged to perform the solat daily and fasts in
Ramadan.
What is the Ghazali Project?

time and pride.In other words, we are shaping your child's character to be a responsible Muslim. Inculcating good habits, sharing with them to be good people by learning manners, instilled responsibilities and much more.

* 5:30pm – 6.00pm: The Ghazali Project - Learning Skills (Integrated Program)
* 6.00pm – 6.30pm: Show & Tell / Group work / Story telling
* 6:30pm – 7:00pm: Games / Wind-down & Debrief.
