You just did not open your eyes big enough
Do you have ever just stop in your track to just stand and look up at the night sky with tears that refused to fall; they had already been falling for too long. Sometimes our heart whispers to Him, "Oh Allah, do you still love me?"- then you listened for an answer and did not hear anything. There was no sign sent from the above nor any messages from the clouds. Miracles were desperately needed, and wanted
to see answers laid out before you. What you did not realize though, was that His answers were all around you, you just have to open your eyes to see them.
Often we call out to the Almighty, praying for miracle, praying for something to change drastically and instantly--but we look around and see nothing. We go on living our life in a world, constantly passing through days without miracles.
The truth is, it's not that there are no more miracles; it's just that we refuse to see them for what they are.
Whenever we find ourselves in a difficult situation, the first and most important thing we need to remember is that no matter what happens, nothing we do on our own will cause any beneficial change to occur. The only One in our lives that can change is Allah SWT Himself-- when He wills it and with His might, not ours. With this in mind, we begin our struggle with spiritual action rather than physical action. Before even moving a muscle we turn our hearts and minds to Him and ask for a
miracle.
This, of course, doesn't mean we should not put our own effort into fixing situation; rather, it means that we recognize that our actions are simply a means. The means is not what changes the situation, the changes lies in the miracle. As Allah says;
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ ۗ
Indeed, Allah will not change the
condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.
With that in mind, no situation is beyond repair, no problem is too big and no hope is too ambitious. Moreover, He has told us that He is as we think of Him. If we do not fully believe that Allah will change our situation, then He won't. If we do not think that He can miraculously change our lives from pits of misery to a life of love and
worshiping Him, then he won't.
Good or bad, everything in this life is a test. The Almighty tests us to see if we're grateful. He tests us to see our reaction when His favors are withdrawn. When things go wrong, bear patience, trust Him. Don't give up hope. He will open doors and create opportunities.
- Mufti Menk-
When we full-heartedly believe in the miracles of our Creator, we will begin to see them each and every day.
