Happily Never After

Every day on your way back home, you never failed to open your letterbox to check for letters. You have been receiving notifications and reminders non-stop about your loans, credit card payment, water bills and so on. Sometimes the thought of even opening up the letters scares you.

Why? There was once you received a RED letter from HDB as a reminder to pay for the house. The thought of having to mortgage the house, the place you have built a family, a shelter for you and your children, the memories created together; it is just painful to bear the consequences of getting kick out of your own "house."

Work can be stressful sometimes, or most of the times, and being able to go home to the arms of your lovely spouse and laughter, hugs from your children is just amazing and a dream come true. But it sounds SO GOOD TO BE TRUE. Constant fights never died down; there will always be issues and disagreements pick on each other. Letters from the bank were left open; statements from the bank on the credit card purchase listed down like a full essay; the loans were too much, and to settle it will not be anytime soon. Sometimes communication never ended well, even the house is filled with so much negativity it feels difficult to even breathe.

Without having a good financial planning and management between spouses can actually break the marriage from happily ever after to happily NEVER after. The dream of having a fairy-tale life just shattered to pieces and once a happy dream turns into a nightmare. A nightmare you cannot wake up from but to face it every single day.

You have the choice to either live with regrets OR rewind everything to prevent from this nightmare to become a reality.

Don't wait till you're in trouble.

"Tie your camel first, then put your trust in Allah"

One day the Messenger of Allah (saws) noticed a bedouin (desert Arab) leaving his camel without tying it and he asked the bedouin: "Why don't you tie down your camel?" The bedouin answered, "I put my trust in Allah." The Prophet (saws) then said, "Tie your camel first, then put your trust in Allah"
