The importance of Giving

Assalamualaikum Wr Wb,

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, we ask for your peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad SAW. Thank you for subscribing to our mailing list. InshaAllah this email finds you and your family in the best of health and imaan. May the peace and blessings of Allah SWT be upon you and your family, inshaAllah.

A hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) says that a voice was once heard commanding a cloud to irrigate a man’s garden. When the man was asked what he did with the garden, he replied that he estimated the produce of his garden. Then he distributed one-third to charity, kept one-third for himself and his family, and invested one-third back into the garden.

Just as Allah (swt) sent a cloud for this man who gave to the poor, Allah will also provide for us in miraculous ways if we give what we love for the pleasure of Allah and in the service of mankind. As the hadith beautifully illustrates, Allah replaces what we give and multiplies it.

“Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned.” (The Holy Qur’an, 2:245)

The Benefits of Charity

The Almighty promises us that if we train ourselves to give in times of ease and hardship, our sustenance will increase. Giving awakens our souls and triggers genuine concern for the well-being of others. Priority is given to feeding the poor and the needy, as that is one of the best acts in Islam.

Giving from what we are given from The Provider and Owner of everything not only releases us from the disease of want but also reminds us that everything belongs to Allah (swt) and must be used for the well-being of all of humanity.

We will never attain righteousness until we spend what we love, loving for our brothers and sisters what we love for ourselves.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Protect yourself from hell-fire even by giving a piece of date as charity.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

The personal sacrifice of giving one’s possessions, no matter how small, for the sake of helping those in need is a blessing and means purifying our souls and wealth. From a drop of water to gardens of fruit we must remember that everything in this world is loaned to us for a brief period of time. The true test is the test of giving the given.

“Allah, the Exalted, says, ‘Spend, O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.’” – Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) (Al-Bukhari and Muslim). How will you give today?

Project Goodwill Cambodia ( Ramadan 1440H )

We received about 136 packages.

All of the food packages have been distributed between the following dates:

12 May 2019 - 89 packages.

2 June 2019 - 47 packages

@ Kampung Cheu Thial, Dearah Piam Jiliang, Wilayah Tbong Khmum

Insyallah, we will re-open a new campaign for the Eidul Adha period.

Ramadan Food Basket

We received about 61 packages.

All of the food packages have been distributed on the 30th of May 2019.

Insyallah, we will re-visit this campaign next year. Thank you to all that have contributed.

Ramadan RTE Meals ( Local Project )
by FREE FOOD FOR ALL

We received about 53 packages.

Distribution was made throughout Ramadan. Free Food For All was featured in Berita Mediacorp. You may watch again the clip here.

Insyallah, we will re-visit this campaign next year. Thank you to all that have contributed.

We are also please to share with you that FREE FOOD FOR ALL lead by Bro Nizar will soon turn IPC. What does that mean?

It means that future contributions made to them can be offset from your Tax Filings. More updates as we go along.

Ramadan Mutton Project 2019

After reconciliation, the previous amount of meat collected was shown wrongly. We have only raised about 3378 kg of fresh and frozen mutton instead of the previous report where we mention 3506 as there was a double counting error.

Alhamdulillah the following organisations have received the meat for their Iftar and Sahur.

On behalf of all the organisations and the team behind the coordination, administrative and logistics, we thank all the sponsors for this project. Insyallah we will revisit this campaign again next year.

This project will continue with the Mutton All Year Round project for organisations that requires the muttons for their monthly events. Look out for it next week.

Wakf Muqaddam (Cambodia)

In this Wakf project, we are collaborating with an NGO in Cambodia, Organization for Community Development Cambodida (OCDC) to provide this muqaddam to the children, orphans, women and also to adults in Cambodia who wishes to learn to read the Al-Qur'an, beginning with the basic using Muqaddam that you have donated.

Wakaf Housing Project in Cambodia

As of now alhamdulillah we have succeed in building 7 houses.

And now we are in the process of building another 7 more houses.

Latest update:

5 houses are 90% completed.

2 houses are in queue.

Insyallah we are able to take in 3-5 more houses.

Please note that each housing project may take about 3 months to a year to complete.
Depending on weather conditions and queue.

Shelter is one of our most basic needs: Without it, it is almost impossible to carry on any other kind of activity or live a comfortable life. Yet at least one in every four people worldwide live without decent housing and over 100 million people live in absolute homelessness. A place that keep us safe; A place we seek sanctuary from; A place to rest and sleep in, that we can call home to most of us but not everyone has the opportunity to own it.

While we are living in the comfort of our homes protected, others in different parts of the world may not share the same fate. Despite working day and night to support their families, they are still too poor to build a house of their own.

Cambodia are home to nearly 2,700 homeless (as of 2017) who are living in poverty. How lucky are we to live in a HDB flat with clean tiles, proper room to sleep in and only our family members reside in it but as for them it is good enough to have a place to stay even if they have to share it with other families.

In this Wakaf project, we aim to aid and provide these families with proper housing. To give them a shelter that they need.
