Assalamualaikum Wr Wb,

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, we ask for your peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad SAW. Thank you for subscribing to our mailing list. In shaa Allah this email finds you and your family in the best of health and imaan. May the peace and blessings of Allah SWT be upon you and your family, in shaa Allah.

Does you stomach feel weird after a month of fasting and when Eid comes you start to eat more than you can due to house visitations. Does your alarm clock still rings at 4am to prepare for Sahur?

For the month of Ramadan, our bodies were solely conditioned to eat less, wake up early and perform as much sunnah prayers as possible. However whenever Eid comes, such practises disappears only to see it in the next Ramadan. Provided Allah swt prolongs our life to the next Ramadan.

Our body have warm up for Ramadan, but have we warm down yet. This can be done in Syawal by fasting for another 6 days. This fast is Sunnah Mustahabbah, not wajib and it comes with great benefits.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) explained this when he said: “Whoever fasts for six days after (Eid) al-Fitr has completed the year: (whoever does a good deed (hasanah) will have ten hasanah like it).” According to another report: “Allaah has made for each hasanah ten like it, so a month is like fasting ten months, and fasting six days completes the year.”

Besides the warming down of the body system, these sunnah fasts may replace the fast missed in Ramadan. Insyallah.

Based on the following hadtih narrated by Abu Dawood.

On the Day of Resurrection, some of his naafil deeds will be taken to make up the shortcomings in his obligatory deeds, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The first thing for which people will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection will be their salaah (prayer). Our Lord, may He be glorified and exalted, will say to His angels – although He knows best – ‘Look at the salaah of My slave, whether it is complete or incomplete.’ If it is perfect, it will be recorded as perfect, and if something is lacking, He will say, ‘Look and see whether My slave did any voluntary (naafil) prayers.’ If he did some voluntary prayers, [Allaah] will say, Complete the obligatory actions of My slave from his voluntary actions.’ Then all his actions will be dealt with in a similar manner.”

If you have the means and capability, practise the sunnah prayers and practise these sunnah fasts. Insyallah Allah swt will forgive us and replace those that we have missed.

(Surah Baqarah, verse 275).

Riba brings hardship into this life, but much more importantly and frighteningly are its consequences in the grave and akhirah (the Hereafter).
