Assalammualaikum wr wb,

This would probably the last time we will be writing about RIBA for quite a while as the event "Clearing the Dust (for Emplyees)" will happen tomorrow. Some of our friends asked us, is it really possible to be clear of RIBA? 

Umar Ibn Al-Khattab relates that he heard the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, say, "Verily actions are by intentions, and for every person is what he intended. So the one whose hijrah was to Allah and His Messenger, then his hijrah was to Allah and His Messenger. And the one whose hijrah was for the world to gain from it, or a woman to marry her, then his hijrah was to what he made hijrah for." (Saheeh Al-Bukhari, Saheeh Muslim)

Whoever sets his journey for Allah and His Messenger that is his reward. Similarly if we set our intentions towards clearing our RIBA, insyallah Allah swt will guide us towards it. 

It may not be possible today to clear this dust or even get out of the system but what about the future. Can we plant new seeds today and begin to create a different environment for our future generations.

i) Are we able to create a new generation who would save and pay in full without taking a loan for their houses, wedding and even the car?

ii) Are we able to create a generation which perhaps uses alternatives that don't require interest based transactions. 

Allahualam. All we know now it needs to start somewhere. It begins with us acquiring the knowledge and navigating the financial landscape. Someday we will pass down the knowledge to our children.
